View Full Version : If i disconnect the battery terminal will i have to reprogram my alarm?

just a simple question. I have a 791xv and was wondering if it got unplugged from the battery terminal would it lose its memory? will i have to reprogram it and set the remote and blah blah. thanks in advance

75% sure, I know it doesn't for most alarms, but I don't know the ins and out of your alarm.

bah me neither i tried to install the 791xv my self ( first install ) and i shorted something lol after that i took it to a shop. but i saw that the guy fused some of the power to the fuse box.. so im guessing it will have power. but he also had some 8 guage hooked to the battery. i unnoz

You shouldn't have to reprogram it... that will be retained. You may have to re-affiliate the remote... not sure.

you wont have to reprogram the remote itself but you will most likely have to re learn all the features if you have stuff like double pules for the locks and truck etc, i know on my girls aftermarket alarm every time i disconnect the battery i have to re-program all the functions
