i looked through the forums and found that it could be a possible engine noise from the grounding or possibly the rcas are picking up noise. im havn't had much experience installing speakers n such i think i need all the help i can get. so here is a setup and a list of things that happens.

celica gt 03

jl 500/1 15w6
i set up the frequencys at (recommended jl setup)
Q:1.6
Center Freq: 60
Bass boost: +3

i grounded it right under the back seats. power runs down the driver side, rca runs down the passenger side. i used a installedge.com ( rf ???) LOC. i dind't want to take the head unit out so i pulled the rear speaker wires from the fuse box on the passenger side ( BCM i think its called ) the loc is sitting beside the fuse box with the rcas running across it. sub is wired correctly. i didn't use a remote wire instead im using signal sensing.

the problem on some songs is bass is TOTALLY out of sync.. im not sure how to put it in words other then lag.. it wont hit very well back to back... and lastly since its not connected with a remote wire when i turn off the car the bass makes a sound for about a second. shortly after it turns off. one day i got out of the car and i dont know what the reason was but i hit the seat... all of a sudden i hear the bass hitting .. not hard but enough to tell it wasn;t the seat... so my conlusion is.... !??!!? what the hell is going on..
i havn't looked through the car to see if it has a factory amp. does a 03 gt have a factory amp?
any replies would be greatly appreciated :D

im not an expert, but i would make sure that you run the RCA's as far away from any opther power wires. if i rememebr right, dont run it next to the antenna wire,

the frequency from the power sires will screw up your RCA cables and cause distortion.

but i dont have a full cpnclusive answer for you.

the signal sensing is probably not the best thing to do.
I just spliced my amp's remote wire into the stock radio's acc 12v wire. Worked great with no noise. The signal sensor is probably the reason why the bass is hitting after your car is turned off. Because something that hits may be enouhg to send a signal through the rca cables, causing it to amplify the sound greatly, thus hitting after turned off. This might also prevent future battery draining issues with the sensor. Hope this helps.

thanks for the input, where did you place your LOC. i got the signal sensing part figured out but the sub not hitting in sync is the weird part. could signal sensing cause this probelm? also is the acc wire the gray wire (celica gt 03) ? the strange part is that some songs it plays OKAY.. well decent.. but some songs its just totally offf.. sounds like its not even part of the song..

I dont really know about a GT... sorry, ha, you'll just have to disconnect the harness and use a multimeter to find the acc. As for the LOC, if the amp has a high-input input source, I'd use that rather than using a LOC and RCA cables. If you don't have a high-level input on the amp, I guess you'll just have to do some fine tuning with the LOC. Try running the LOC off the speaker wires after the stock amp has gone through it. This may up the voltage a little and help.

check your enclosure....

yes, enclosure could be an issue, also check small things like + & -...sounds like you've wired correctly...so it's hard to tell what went wrong there...

sounds like if you have a sealed enclosure there is a leak, and if u have a ported enclosure its not tuned correctly.

the box is sealed, i dont htink there are any leaks. but could a leaky box make the sub sound totally out of phase? i mean its REALLY out of phase on some songs. i think when it tries to play certain frequencies it starts acting strange..possibly low frequencies.. could it be the stock head unit?

yes, what kind of box do you have? Q logic? volume space in the box? .65? .75? .8? and what the specs on the sub???
