Email or PM "ringthree" from our area. He has the JDM seat covers and must know how to remove the stock ones.

I wouldnt recomend doing that! It takes Toyota techs all day to do one seat, and they know the right ways. rent an upholostry cleaner instead. dont risk ruining your seat.

I have aftermarket leather seat covers.

The top portion of the factory covers just unzip. The bottom part that you sit on is a little more work, but they are not difficult.

You should remove the seat that you are working on. To remove it, you just need to unbolt the 4 bolts that hold the track down and unplug the "seat belt reminder" wire harness. Once you have the seat out, you remove the plastic on either side of the seat. One side will have a nob that is held on with a clip that you can remove with a screwdriver. The other side is held on with one screw. Other than that, they are just snapped in and will come off by simply pulling on them.

The fabric on the bottom of the seat is held on with a fastener called a hog ring. Just get a set of pliers to pry off the 7 hog rings. That is it, you are done.

I would reccomend getting new hog rings when you put the cover back on because you will have to bend them to get the old ones off. You could probably re-bend the old rings to re-use them, but they are so cheap, I don't see the point of going thue the trouble.

I think that you could remove both seat covers in about an hour, if you had done it before and were working quickly, you could probably do it in half that time...
