I am pretty set on building my gt but i want to make sure it is worth the money. My build includes the list below but i think i am thinking of changing the compression ratio to 8:8:1. Out of curiosity, how much nitrous do you think i will be able to run with that build? And yes, i am building for nitrous because a turbo kit and the install and tuning is too much for the old wallet.
1st - MWR Toyota 1ZZ-FE Piston and Sleeve Kit 1.93 bore and 11:0:1 compression
2nd - MWR Valves - Toyota 1ZZ-FE
3rd - Crower Spring and Retainer Set - Toyota 1ZZ-FE
4th - Crower Cams - Toyota 1ZZ-FE
WHAT STAGE SHOULD I GO WITH WITH THE CAMS?
5th- Darton Sleeves - Toyota 1ZZ-FE
6th - Crower Billet Connecting Rods - Toyota 1ZZ-FE 1.8L VVTi
7th and last ( i think ) - MWR Rod Bearing Set - Toyota 1ZZ-FE

It seems odd to me that you would want to go to the expense of a fully built engine...just to run what is commonly considered to be cheater/cheap horsepower.
If you are going to go to the expense of a built motor...why not also put together a proper FI setup.
...I don't get it...but I also know very little about nitrous.

It doesn't actually strike me that nitrous would be all that much cheaper at that point. While the kit would still prolly only be 600 bucks, the cost of the gas would add up in a hurry.
Say you were doing a 100+ shot, which shouldn't be a problem in a built engine, it would be easy to use up an entire 10lb bottle (about $40) in a couple runs at the track. That could add up in a real hurry, esp if you start thinking 150 shot, 175 shot... etc etc etc...

Suddenly that turbo kit doesn't sound all that bad, does it?

not really...but i live next to the track and our little "performance group" i guess u could call it, meet up there alot and race for cash...idk im really thinkin about turbo now becaue i could run probably close to 20psi on a built engine...

Good point! That further illustrates my point...that at the point of fully built motor...go with a proper FI system. ;)

The combination of:
1. 12 total posts
2. Noob questions
3. Unclear direction
4. 20 psi on a 1ZZ
5. Not even a mention of engine management
6. Talking about a turbo being too expensive but a built engine being affordable
scares me. Sounds to me like another study hall racer.

still takes 5 looks before I can see anything you write other than the skater... so... hot...
and yeah... seems pretty crazy. BUT, 20 psi has been done on built 1zzs and not blown up. Its actually kinda hard for me to imagine running a lot less that than if you bother with a full build. What is the MWR beast running these days? As for management, do you have to get stand alone to deal w/ a built 1zz, or could the emanage get by.
What is it about a built engine that the stock compy couldn't deal with? Doesn't seem like you've actually changed the dynamics of the system that much, except to tune for cams.

I hope he does it/ I for one would absolutely LOVE to see what happens when you dump 150 extra ponies on a stock 1ZZ tranny instantaneously :) I hope he makes a video....

Why hasn't anybody told him to skip the built motor and just add a turbo kit?
toyotacelicagt,
Why are you even talking about running 20 psi on a stock tranny? That's about 10 psi too much.

I just had a feeling it was him.
He was also trying too hard to act like a noob. He obviously knew something, by posting all that stuff about MWR. Standard issue for banned idiots trying to return.

He's also too stupid to spell my name correctly. The best was when he included me on his official "FVCK YOU NC.ORG HATERS" picture.

I see. Now I'm going to wonder about every new member that asks about nitrous.
