over the weekend some drunk ******* in an old pickup backed into me so hard, that it pushed my bumper to the ground, bent my hood up, and put a bend in a strong looking piece of metal that encases the engine...what is this strong metal piece...can it be bent out? it's right behind the radiator...someone let me know if my baby's gonna make it :sadpace:

is it the piece that goes the same way as the radiator or the one that points to the rear of the car?

this obviously isnt my engine bay, but it's the only one i could find with the plastic covering off...the yellow arrow represents the bend...i think it was from a trailer hitch...am i in trouble

Your either going to need a new radiator support or get that one repaired if possible.

Yep, of that is the only part that is bet, it's a 5 minute job. Most of the time though, it's not that simple. It is likely that if the radiator support is bent, it may have taken other parts of the frame with it. Get it checked out by a bodyshop.

yea if thats the only thing that is bent then its replaceable, its only bolted on by 2 bolts i beleive, the radiator support. I was in an accident and that part bent, replaced it for about 100+ from partznet.com. You should still get the car checked to see if an thing else bent

eh bro, not to capitalize on your misfortune, but if needed, I do have a couple of OEM hoods that I've been trying to get rid of. Grant, there's going to be some $$$ involved, but not looking for too much! Just trying to get rid of them before I leave the country.
