If you drive alot your car will wear quicker (it'll still last 200,000mi+) and it will depreciate faster, but that's true of anything, if you use it, it wears out.

If you want to save your car for posterity, don't drive it at all ;).

long distance driving on the highway can actually be better on the car then city driving, because in the city you are in stop and go traffic.

and letting the car sit there doesnt make thing better either. gas goes bad, and depending on weather conditions, the car parts can wear out just sitting there. so either way it better just to drive the car once in a while. for example my sister car sat in the garage for 6 months and wasnt started or moved. it was very hard for it to start and we noticed belts were making noises after we did get it started...

Make sure to get oil changes at 3,000 mile intervals. Rotate tires every other oil change or 6,000. I change mine every 3,000. Check tire pressure every other fill up. Just keep up to date with maintenance. 1,000+ miles...good time to use that cruise control.;)
