Everywhere i post on here. People hate and they don't do that on any other sites i go to. Can someone explain to me why these people flip out for no reason? i like talking about cars and helping fellow car owners out and just having a good time. Yet i get flamed and i see other people get flamed for just posting something. wierd site this is

I see it alot more here than in other sites that I visit. Problem seems to be that there are so many people who post stupid things that the veterans are sick of it. Also there are alot more 'hard' wanna be racers on this site. The other car site I am on is CustomTacos.com and truck owners on there are just generally more helpfull and patient. For this reason, i would try to stay out of General and Newbie sections because 80% of those posts are crap. Also stay out of off topic because if you think this is bad you have no idea.

I see a web forum like a frat... ur first few hundred posts you are gonna get hazed... it helps to weed people out.

This is the internet, are you really going to take it serious? People have just gotten tired of noobs reposting and reposting when it could have taken a few seconds to search. Right now this site is becomming packed with them. There are also a ton of helpful people some times the ones that flame you are most helpful.


I still dont really know what you are refering to about people getting flammed in the regular forums. OT is a different story.

Perhaps you could post some examples.

Even in your newbie argument with the experienced members of the site you did not really get flamed. It was suggested that you can't possibly afford a $15,000+ engine building project when you work part time as a waiter. ...that was the worst it got.

...bottom line. The experienced members are here posting free advice, and it is annoying to have to debate that advice with someone with little or no automotive knowledge.

I find that anyone who takes the time to READ the stickies, SEARCH for answers, THEN post questions gets treated very well and does not get flamed.

I find that anyone who does not take the time to READ the stickies, SEARCH for answers, and ONLY posts new threads asking questions that have been covered dozens of times...they get flamed right away because they treat the place like a chatroom rather than its actual function which is an archive of information and ideas.

This is what I LOVE about this site. It is moderated leniently enough so everyone can state their true opinions but also moderated correctly enough to not let "e-thuggery" take over (outside of OT anyway).
