man my car is acting up on me....ok heres the situation....when i start from a complete stop my car revsto 2k and then it feels like its gonna shut down and falls to about 800, and then it starts to rev normal again......wtf is wrong with my car.....it doesnt have that pick up anymore......it feels like its hauling something heavy too.......im thinking it could be my CAI sucking in too much water or that it might be my spark plugs misfiring......
does any body have a clue?
man, this makes me wanna sell my car and get a RSX Type R when it hits the US shores....but then those damn cars have problems too......maybe ill get the EVO......
well, i just need some feedback.....

Does it happen all the time or just sometimes? Do you have a S-AFC??

how clean is your CAI(filter)? Do you have your air/con on? when this is happening, is your fan kicking on? is this happening when your car is warming up???
how clean is your CAI(filter)?
Your car may be struggling to get air into the engine at idle.
If you're cai is injesting water ...your engine would be hydrolocked right now and will not run.
If you don't know too much about cars...you might want to do some more research on them and aftermarket parts before modifying something that cost 20,000+...I'm not attacking you...this is just common sense.
Any alteration to your car is going to have either positive and/or negative effects ...even the almighty type-r (as great of a car it is)isn't susceptible to this fact

no offense taken, but i do know enough to modify my car but once things get technical, i'm lost....
well, i noticed that my car has that problem mostly when my engine is not warm, but it happens all other times too, jus not as bad....(jus a note...i dont ever rev up past 4k when my engine is cold)....i think that it has to be that my engine has water in it.....cuz i didnt experience this problem until two days ago....before that my car was riding fine and i had no problems with take off....now when i prepare to take off the rpms hit about 2k, then the rpms drop down to about 5-6oo then pops back up to norm.....this is driving me crazy.....
my a/c is off, and i dont think my fan kicks in much at all....
well, my CAI should be fairly, if not, really clean since i've just had it in for about 3 to 4 weeks now....
and no, i dont have an S-AFC....
im suggesting that water or my sparkplugs misfiring has to be the problem...and what about the deal with the throttle body?....what could be wrong there?
thanks for your inputs

Try cleaning your MAFS. It collects a lot of dirt over time. Just use a Q-tip.
BTW, do you think you're gonna have less problems with an EVO than a Celica? :nono:

EVO has the 4G63 motor from the Eclipse Turbo....hmmmm...."Crankwalk" sound familiar, unless of course they have corrected the problem which I don't know.

oh, no way, im not getting the Evo......not even a consideration anymore......its priced at $37k......too much money for me.....but im seriously thinking about the Type S now......im gonna try to solve my problem first though.....cuz i love our Celi's......and i really dont want to get rid of it.....especially with my luck, once i get rid of it they'll come out with a s/c or turbo......then i would be really pissed.......
eh, Ntence99....what a coincidence.....this all started happening after i filled my gas tank up the last time.....its been happening ever since.....

Get some fuel injector cleaner and throw it in your gas tank next time you are on empty and then fill up. Gas tanks have crud inside the tanks that can get into people's cars when they fill up causing nice little things like dirty injectors...Try that and see if it don't help. It;s only 2.49 so it can't hurt :)
