What to do during the winter?

So what do the Autocrossers do as their "speed fix" during the Winter months?

We run in Winter Series! Ax is year round for us. :D (guess you could do an ICE-cross???);) :rolleyes:

Well when NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway opens back up in the Chicago area (Woodfield Mall in 6 to 8 weeks) you'll find me driving around in circles. At one time I was nationally ranked at Charlotte, did well at Atlanta, ok on the Richmond bull ring but never could find a good drafting partner for Daytona.

We have a limited winter series (6 events now till April) with alternate snow dates. There is also a cool thing called rallycross, like autocross but in the dirt or on a frozen pond. If that doesn't work for you there's always the mountains for a little sking or snowboarding.

Winter series? Hoosiers don't work in snow

a winter series would be sweet, today was the first cold day auto-x (also the begining of our last event of the season) here in vegas (probably not cold to most of you but remember we're desert people) and it was intresting, it made it almost impossible for people to get traction, we were all losing it i couldn't get my street tires to stick for the life of me no matter what I did to the tire preasure (tomorrow should be even more intresting since it rained really hard tonight and the parking lot should be pretty slick tomorrow). Also since most of us are used to warm weather we weren't very well dressed to be out on the course working in the cold haha i was freezing, tomorrow instead of a tiny windbreaker and athletic pants i'm gonna be wearing some thick jeans and a huge jacket.

for my winter speed fix, i apply my driving skills to gran turismo 3.
