I've been looking for a new job for about a month now. With one company, I've interviewed, taken a 3 hour test, passed the background check, and now go tomorrow for a drugscreen. I have a good feeling that they'll be offering me the job as soon as they get the results. It'll be putting me around $15 hr, which is about a $1.35 raise from what I'm making now. That's their starting pay, within a year, I'll hit about $17. Plus all the overtime I want is availible which will be $22.5hr. I'm really hoping this goes well. It'll put a good bit of extra money in my pocket. I'll keep ya updated if ya care....

that sounds good, wish i was making that much. i need to start looking for something new soon as i'll be moving up to the north side of town this summer. i'm kinda looking foward to a new job though, the one i have now doesn't pay very well and it's quite a bit of work. anybody know of something real easy that pays a lot around sandy springs/dunwoody? haha...it would be nice to find one of those. guess i'll just have to wait a couple more years unitl i get finished with school, then i should have a fun graphic design job :)

I really don't know of anything around here. I've been looking farther north, around N.Gwinnett, S.Hall area. There's some pretty good jobs around there that pay in the low teens...It's a good area to live in too. Maybe food for thought for ya. I'll be moving up there soon, especially if I get this job.
On a side note, how silly does my new sig pic look? That pic was taken in my driveway and I tried to make it look fast...Hahaha

I like the new sig Jamie, How did you do the wheels like that, Good luck with the Job, Cody have you ever thought about Parking cars, Someone that I used to work with was a valet for The Westin hotel he was making like 100 to 150 a night, take home. or maybe even a bell boy, the hotels in downtown pay hella lot of money or at least you get hella tips

I'm glad u guys like it, I wasn't sure. As far as the wheels and background, my photo software has a tool called dust/scratch remover. Basically it gives you a paint brush and lets you drag the colors around, so I just blended in the background (which had my accord next to it) and then swirled the wheels. I think it looks pretty cool.

i had thought of parking cars or something but most likely you'd have to work weekends and friday nights. i might sound lazy but i really don't wanna end up doing that. plus, i'll probably be coming back down here most weekends which wouldn't let me work then either. i guess i'll start looking sometime soon though.

Jamie, what kind of job is it? If you don't mind sharing.

Cody, I've heard the " They're coming this week" thing way to many times. I wouldn't believe it until I got a tracking number.

Haha, thanks Michael. They're actually my stock wheels, just swirled them for the "spinning" look. :)
I don't mind sharing info at all Barry.
It's a company called Avery Denison (Avery Label).
It's the largest label making company in the U.S. from what I've been told. The job that I applied for is a Press Operator. I'm not sure but I guess that I'll be stamping out the labels from a sheet.
I think....
LMK when u get U'r hood Cody and I'll take your old scoop off your hands.

Jamie did you get your car back today?

05-01-2002, 04:26 PM
well i just found out i get my new transmission in tuesday. i guess it's good that it won't be grinding anymore but i'm not looking foward to the feel of the shift gates. i also have to figure out what im gonna do about getting up there and home 2 days in a row but i'll figure out something. and still no words on the hoods as of right now...

Damn that sucks that you still don't know when you are getting your hoods yall ordered them like 2 months ago? I would have expected them already. I don't think the new tranny will be as bad as you think, the only prob I have heard of the 2002 GT-S is the rev limiter since you have the 00 Rev limiter you should be fine.

Nope, they called me at 4 p.m. and said it wouldn't be ready until noon tomorrow. No big deal. I just want it to look good again so I don't mind waiting. I'm not out of pocket for anything either so that's cool.
I'm glad your finally getting your tranny done. It'll take some gettin used to but when you get your twm ss, it'll be alot better. And BTW, I'm still interested in your TRD SS. Only I cant remember what you said you wanted for it..:( You'll probably need to tell toyota to throw your old one in your trunk or they might throw it in the trash with the rest of the tranny.

Does the 02' have the same gearing?

skatamatic
05-01-2002, 04:35 PM
yea, i do need to make sure i tell them to let me keep the old one. and mark, i felt the 2002 shift gates the other day and unfortunately they are pretty bad. oh well, i'll eventually get used to it (i hope). i'll figure out a price (i forgot too) and let you know as soon as the new one is in.

I didn't expect them to finish your car today, one day seemed awful quick to repaint a bumper

2kgtx
05-01-2002, 04:36 PM
What are the shift gates like on the 02 I heard that it's like from first to second down to the left is that true, I have a hard time believing that and if that is the case I understand your compliant that would suck.

Coolwheels00
05-01-2002, 04:40 PM
I felt the shift gates on the 02' too. 1'st and 2nd are kinda where 3rd and 4th are. 5th and 6th are pretty much leaning over the passenger seat. It's that bad...

2kgtx
05-01-2002, 04:44 PM
that sucks

skatamatic
05-01-2002, 05:01 PM
yea, jamie pretty much said it. it's really strange how much that thing leans to the right, i don't get why they did that. everything seems to be over 1 gear to the right (for example, reverse is where 1st usually is, 1st is where 3rd usually is, etc. and they're way wider apart). it's pretty crappy.

Coolwheels00
05-01-2002, 05:04 PM
have u felt the twm ss for the 02? I wonder how much better it is.

where is this place at? i gotta find an apt. in the sandy springs/dunwoody area this summer. not sure if that's anywhere near there but the price sounds good.

Coolwheels00
05-02-2002, 05:46 PM
If it's the one's Todd is in now, they are in Alpharetta. Really it's only about 15 mins from S.P./Dunwoody area.

05-02-2002, 05:49 PM
sounds cool, but i think i'll just look at the area right next around my school so i can cut down on all the wonderful heavy traffic driving of atlanta. thanks for the help on it though.

Coolwheels00
05-02-2002, 06:52 PM
Haha, traffic doesn't get any lighter in Dunwoody/Sandy Springs.
Sorry but it's pretty bad

skatamatic
05-02-2002, 08:24 PM
yea, after going to school up there for a while i've realized how bad it is. (although i was already kinda used to it becuase its horrible near me too). but since it is pretty bad i wanna try to find an apt. right next to the school and only have to put up with a few minutes of it.

Hey.. sorry it took so ling to get back to you guys..

Yeah Jamie it is the one we live at.

Skatamatic.. itis in Alpharetta. Where are you going to school? It is going to be more expensive down in the S.P. Dunwoody area.

I work at the King and Queen buildings and I take Hwy. 9 south in the AM and it takes me only 30-40 minutes to get to work. I use to come down 400 but would take me an hour or more. If I leave at 5pm I take 400 and I am home by 5:40 most days.

hey todd, i go to the art institute of atlanta. luckily, i did some searching over the weekend and managed to go ahead and get a place reserved and i'll be moving in june 15. i'll be at post crossing in dunwoody (literally about 3 minutes from my school) and it's really sweet. it's 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, and then my favorite part, a 2 car garage! this place is normally like $1300 a month but i happened to stumble into it on the last day of it's sale for like $980. me and my friend jerry are gonna split it so it's gonna come out quite reasonable for what all we're getting.

Wow, that's a sweet deal Cody.

05-07-2002, 06:26 PM
oh yea, i was amazed at how good of a deal that was. i'm really excited about it too, everyone's invited over once we move in and we can have a big cookout or something :).

oh, and by the way, everyone should come move into this apt. complex now...they'll give me $100 for anyone that i refer down there so i think everyone should look into it...haha...j/k, unless you really are in the market for one (this place is sweet!)

Damn! That is a really good price Cody! Especially for it including a two car garage. I would be interested if it wasn't so far away for me. I haven't decided where I want to go to school in the fall but it will probably be local until I get 30 hours done. After that who knows. I'd definately like to check it out once you get moved in. It sounds nice.

Cody!! I am pretty sure I know which place you are talking about.. That place is very nice.. As are most Post Apts. And that deal is kick a$$!!! especially getting 2 garages!!!

skatamatic
05-08-2002, 03:52 PM
yea, i'm so happy about the garage part, thats what really sold me on them. (not to mention getting it for such a good price too). i also found out it has a ton of other cool stuff like a big new pool, tennis court with pro instructors (haha...i should try that), a big exercise room, a car wash and vacuum, and it comes with washers and dryers and all this other crap in the actual apartment. i'm really looking foward to this place :). everyone's still welcome to come check it out once we get moved in, then you can move in too and i'll get my $100 referral check...haha.
