Yeah, lots of people feel like that. It's especially frustrating to watch more and more performance parts offered for other sport compact cars, while nothing new has been offered for us in a long time. Oh, well. Our only choice is to be patient. Either that, or trade the car in.

hahahaha, thats so true. I just want an FI kit, preferably an SC because i want a flat torque curve, since FI is nice for the mountains and you aren't as effected by altitude. I am more about the handling side, around 230 HP would do it for me.

Do you guys think that it's possible that it takes companies so long to actually develop a reliable FI setup to SELL that it will be for the next generation of VVTL-i engines? I mean, I think Toyota will soon realize that the Celica's power isn't enough compared to all these new cars coming out, or that it's potential for more power is relatively limited, that it will need to make a bigger, more powerful engine. Maybe a 2.0L or even a factory turbo. If this is a few years from now, then any turbos for the 2ZZ will be mostly retroactive. Say the following comes true: New 2.0L VVTL-i engine in Celicas and Matrices in 2006. Then the one or two FI setups available will only work for the old 1.8L 2ZZ. Therefore, companies will want to work on the new 2.0L b/c the number of 1.8L 2ZZ's on the road will not increase (much). Hondas kept basically the same engine and they had such widespread use and swappability that old turbos can be modified slightly to fit new ones. I know that the 180 hp is quite sufficient, but there are still many cars coming out with higher numbers. With the 2ZZ seemingly falling behind others in power numbers, it seems like it's gonna need a major upgrade soon. Better power to weight ratio or not, companies are always pressured to keep up in the power race, and i think TOyota's gonna need to do that soon, even if a 2.0L vvtl-i won't be much more powerful than the 1.8L 2ZZ. What do you guys thinK?
