went to walmart this past wednesday and had my oil changed. Been going there a while now, even with my 240SX, and never had a problem.

Anyway, so from wednesday on, I didnt notice anything wrong. Drove my car from Cape Coral to Naples (45 miles) today to visit my old employees. All the way there, there was a film like substance on my windshield, that my wiper blades just WOULDNT take off (first time I'd seen it).

5 miles from the store, I see smoke coming out from under my raised hood scoop, and I'm praying it's just the fluid that got into my engine when I used my wiper fluid.

got to the store, and noticed some brown-ish water on my indent, which I wiped off.

when Amber, the supervisor there, got to the store, she saw my scoop and told me it looked nice, so I told her to come check it out...low and behold, more "water".

I pop open the hood....NO OIL CAP! Fukkers didnt put it back on! I'd been driving back and forth to work (granted, only 5 miles total a day, if that), made a drop off to another store about 10 miles away (20 round trip) and now just drove to Naples...45 miles, in stop and go!

I called wal-mart and he assured me EVERYTHING would be taken care of. They pressure washed my engine bay, being careful not to get anything where it shouldnt go, pressure wasged my hood, hood scoop, under the hood, inside every nook and cranny, chemical washed the window with some crap to get the oil off, replaced ALL my blade assemblies (not just the rubber, the HOLE thing) and dried everything off for me....and re-imbursed me the whole 3.50 for the oil cap...lol.

anyway....I'm sure this has happened before, but wanted to share my story too....

everything is all better now...cleaned, dried, and shiney...

same thing happened here, not to me, but to my sister's civic, which i eventually took over. Stupid people at speedee dont even know how to do a oil change. I dont know what they did to repay my sister for the damage but the whole engine bay got really dirty. After i received the car, i had no idea about cars so i took the same civic to get a oil change at speedee, turns out they overtightened my drain plug, the next person that did my oil change stripped out the threads on the oil pan and i had to get a whole new oil pan. I just decided that all those speedee people and everyone that does a oil change for $20 are total morons so i change my oil myself.

doing a oil change is the easiest thing ever, especially on the celica since the filter is so easy to get to. it takes me 30 minutes tops to change my oil.

i used to take my oldsmobile there, just because i could get it done while i did my grocery shopping.

well i take it in there one day last spring. drop it off with them and go do my thing. about and 1 1/2 hrs later i go back and they still werent done. I like to look and see when exactly my car is over the pit. another half hour goes by and they are finally done. I look at the work order and see a note by where the oil filter should be. it said something like "no oil filter in stock". But i was being charged for it. I asked for a manager and spent the best part of an hour arguing with him, and the grease monkeys that my oil change was no good becuase i still had an old filter and i wanted a full refund.

it took sooo long to make them understand what the filter does. I finally stopped going there and i either do it myself, or when im lazy ill take it to the lube at the car wash. (they are really good there)

walmart is gay. i only go in there when i know what im looking for. most of the time its more expensive than other places. and the people that work there, no matter where are complete freakin idiots. (at the store by me "white trash")

You should see were the 6th gen Celicas oil filter is located. You literally just pop the hood, walk up to the car, and it's right there on top of the motor. It's the best location I've ever seen in any car. Try doing it on a Honda. It is damn near impossible to get to the filter, I have to twist and turn my hand just to get close to the filter, and then you have to somehow apply enough force to reomve it. Just terrible.

6th gens are easy... civics and tegs its actually almost a straight shot.... just its a bitch to do on the ground... lifts help lots..

do your own oil changes, the only hard part on the 7th celi is the underplastics
