HIN Plans.....Let's get Started Early

Alright, we are within 2 months of the big show, so let's start talking about some plans.

I know I have a crew coming with me from Manhattan, Omaha and maybe KC and Des Moines. I'll assume plenty of people are coming from everywhere else then.

First, for the sake of simplicity and to save the locals the hassle of trying to round all of us tourists up like last year, let's get one official nc.org motel/hotel for HIN. This will be assigned to Jesse and the locals to figure out, coo?

Second, let's get a tentative schedule going for what's all going on. This is just what I had in mind seeing as I'll be getting into town sometime Friday afternoon.

Friday

5:00ish - 1st meet
6:00ish - dinner
afterwards - cruise around Chi-town, hit the bars for those interested

Saturday

12-3:00ish - Wash and Wax at a lucky local's place (Kev???)
3-4:00ish - those interested in dinner together before HIN, 2nd meet
5-6:00ish - dinner
7:00ish - 2nd meet for everyone that wants to go to HIN
8:30ish - "Flight of the Celicas" 2nd annual High Speed Dash to HIN
9-12:00ish - HIN
12:00ish - 2nd annual tour of the ghetto compliments of JesseIL

How's that look for everyone? I'd like to get locations for everything picked out ahead of time too. Gamewerks worked well for meeting up before HIN last time, let's plan on that.

Chitown guys, find us all a hotel so we can start booking rooms. Cheap works for me.

Clone if you are leaving on Friday then I wont be able to follow you up there since I dont get off work till 5. I was planning on leaving saturday morning around 8 or 9 and be in Chicago by 1 or 2. I will definitely show for the second meet before HIN. Just let me know where.

I am still trying to get info on the KC Tokyo show. My boy is just a little slow at doing things and it is starting to tick me off.

Hehe, that's cool man. I'm making plans to be down in KC regardless, so just lemme know.

As for making it up, people will be showing up at all different times. Hopefully the Chitown guys will find us a hotel that is close to them and easy to get to, and then we'd just swing by and gather ya up when ya got in.

We'll get an email list going too so we can have lists of cell numbers and the like. Having Kev's cell number was the only thing that saved my ass last year. If fact.....

Coo.....Maybe a good place to meet is the Northfield Mall. Big parking lot would be nice plus all the people at the mall will wonder why the hell we are all there with pretty much the same cars. A cheap hotel would be nice. I am pretty much the only one in Des Moines with a Celi that is hooked up and I am definitley looking forward to seeing others of my kind. Tired of seeing Honda's all the time.

That's right, the Sunday after HIN is the Grand Prix of Chicago. I dunno about anyone else, but I'm already looking around for tickets. Anyone else interested? It'll be a whole weekend of fast cars and faster cars!

Personafied.....Anywhere would be fine. I'll be coming up 163 from Pella with everyone that crashes at my place Thursday night, so some place near the I-80 interchange is perfect. If I remember right, the mall is just a few miles back west on 80 from the interchange.

Yeah, I am pretty sure Northfield is a little north off of I-80 from what I can remember. I am getting so excited about this ****.

That makes two of us. You gunna be interested in the race? That's just icing on the cake for me. If you've never been to a CART race, I HIGHLY recommend going this year before they puss out and start using the IRL engines.

I suggest Motel 6 in Glenview, IL. Look it up on their site www.motel6.com I have a cell phone this year ;) and will be more than happy to show people around. We could do wash & wax there Saturday and we could throw a party there Friday night if people are interested. My neighbors are totally cool and we've had tons of people with no problems before. I can get a bunch of people I work with to show but I'm not interested in having a party if its gonna be a sausage fest.

I would like to do the go cart thing but more than likely we will have to leave around 2 on sunday to make it home and rest up for work on Monday. Working just sucks period. Never have anytime to do ****. Plus the women will want to do things befopre we leave since saturday will be the guys day and sunday we will let them do thier thing and of course we tag along cuz we have to hold their darn bags..........hehehe

Chicago CART race is boring...really. I've been there, as well as CART races at several other tracks. The track is so poorly designed that passing is almost impossible. Its like watching a parade. You really wouldn't be missing much.

Oh well, I cant attend that anyways so your probably right about not missing much. Why is it whenever I go to Chicago I hardly ever see anyother Celica's. Where are they all hiding?

Yeah, ya know, the more I got to thinking about that track....I dunno either. I think the plan may be to see how cheap you can get tickets and decide then. I just really want to see all the CART guys before they puss out next year. And besides, it can't be worse than NASCAR....waste of a sport.

This works for me. Any objections? If we haven't come up with a better idea within a week or so, it'll be coined the Official Nc.org HIN Chicago Motel. I'll be making reservations here in a week or so.

Jesse.....talk to Kev yet? Thanks for the wash n wax and party invite. I'd like to see what the Chicago bar scene has to provide us Friday night.....not that a sausage fest at your place doesn't sound like a blast! But I think we'll take you up on the wash n wax.

Cool, I've been running around like an idiot and was traveling yesterday for work so I haven't talked to Kevin yet. Frankly, I'd rather just go to the bars, but figured I'd offer my place since alot of people will be under 21. I will definitely get in touch with Kevin this weekend and talk about stuff.
