Im hoping someone can help me with this. This problem occurred with the arrival or these two things.

1. Installed CAI

2. Had tranny replaced

Because I installed my CAI the same day I got my car back from getting the new tranny Im not sure with one is causing this problem. However, I never noticed this until AFTER these were done.

What I am experiencing is comparable to a C-V joint going out. (That is what it sounds like.) It's a soft knocking that can be felt in the floorboard. (Like someone is under my car and knocking with their knuckes right underneath my feet.) I only notice it when I am taking off (1mph to 5mph) Also, when I am turning at a real low speed.

Anyone have any idea what this could be? Could it be my CV? Any help would be great.

I know exactly the thing youre talking about. Its the cai moving around. Mine did the exact same thing, thought something was falling apart like a control arm was coming lose or something. What happens is there is a metal frame that runs right in front of the pipe just below the filter on the cai..
and when you take off and kinda lug the engine or are taking a slow turn the engine vibrates.. in turn vibrating the cai pipe which rattles against the metal in front of it and you can definately feel it in the floorboard of the car.
I think the reason why is because the vibra mount that comes with the cai does not let you secure the pipe too well, (because of the big rubber bushing that comes in that bolt)
What I ended up doing was putting some padding on that metal piece with zip ties (there is holes in the metal thing)
on the spot where the cai would normally contact it..
problem solved. :D

What kinda "padding" did you use...? Needs to be really durable I would guess...

I used that foam rubber packing stuff that usually comes in sheets about 1/4" thick.. It's usually green or pink.. just folded up a piece a few times so it was about 3-4 layers thick and about a 1" inch wide and zip tied it to the metal thing. That stuff seems impervious to water so I dont think it will fall apart or rip any time soon.. its tough as hell :D
