I thought Infinity and Nissans had same engine? I love the 350z over the g35, but wtf, the FX makes the Murano look like rollerblades
for coupe i like 350z, but for SUV, i like the new FX45

the fx and the 350z have the same engine. apperently.
so most of the mods you can do to the 350z engine you can to the fx. which is so fckin cool.
i love that car. the only suv i'd ever want.

All nissan/infiniti cars with the 3.5L V6 have the same engine. The one you were next was probably an FX45 which has a 4.5L v8 with 320hp 335tq.
The FX and the 350Z have WAAAAAAAAAY more than the engine in common.
they're both built on the Nissan FM platform, used in the 350Z, the G35 (coupe and sedan), the M35/45, and the FX35/45, which is why the FX handles as well as it does.
The FX comes in the FX35, which has the same 3.5L VQ35DE found in almost every Nissan in some form, from 240 hp (quest)-300 hp (350Z Anniversary). The FX45 gets the 4.5L V8 which makes 330 hp and just as much torque, god damn, that engine is awesome. They should put it in the new Skyline.
Speaking of the Skyline, the FX and G35X both have the same AWD system, ATTESSA-ETS, found in the GT-R series of Skylines, which is RWD biased and sends up to 35% of the power to the front wheels, as needed.
The FX truly is one badass "SUV".

Serious? ATTESA-ETS no sh1t!?
lol, well i didn't know that and know I like it even more. The FX has a really modern-future look to it, it takes time to grow on you

Fx is nice. They actually sound like a g35/350z and the Nissan murano does not.

the vq35 is probably one of the best v6's ever made, its arguable though.
If and when i get another sedan, it will be a nissan/infiniti, every v6 up from the VG3x to the vq35 is rock solid. Even the VE was a solid engine, though it had some shortcummings, but for an engine made in 1992 with variable valve timing it is still awesome. My next car will probably be a g35 coupe/sedan.

So is this where all the controversy over the new GT-R's motor is coming from? They talk about a Twin Turbo v6 but at the same time talk of a v8. Though, most sources speak of ~400 hp. I suppose that's probably the gain from the turbos but were they planning on using a twin system if they go with a v8 (which IMO they should not do... it's so un-Skyline to have a v8.
On a similar note, the new GT-R is rumored to have some new generation of the ATTESA AWD system I think

well the GT-R32 was big on technology at the time and they probably want to jam the next GT-T full of technology as well

320 HP V8 will do that. They sound bad ass.

The M45 has to be the sexiest car I have ever seen as a 4 door.

:werd: Love the sound the FX gives off when it drives. It has that nice subtle deep humm that the G35 and 350 have.

Turbos really don't go over well in America anymore, especially twins - that's why no tt supra, no tt rx car, no tt Z, and no tt mitsubishi.
They could EASILY get the VQ45 up to 400 hp naturally aspirated - more aggressive cams, better valvetrain, more revs, higher compression.
