I live off of I-45 in texas, The gulf states toyota distribution facility is right down the road so i pass up all the trucks carrying toyo's.
i stopped at the macdonalds on the way in to work and saw a truck carrying both the new camry and fj40. I walked up to the truck and took a look.
im quite impressed, the FJ is freakin awesome, i drooled looking at it. as soon as one shows up at my local dealer im going to check it out. the camry looks pretty darn good in person too. its kind of a mix of looks between mazda6 and avalon.
the fj has some serious underbody work on it. id love to take that out on a trail, i dont know about the interior, it was on the top rack.
the camrys interior is nice, i like it, looks much better than a copy from a 98 solara.
i didnt go to the motor show this year, so i did get a chance to look at these there, im definetly going to take a spin as soon as one is available at the dealer.
the Camry does look good, finally - its still a bland, boring, peoplemover, but at least it looks inspiring.
FJ40 . . . . have no interest in SUVs, Vans, Trucks, and other such bimbo boxes so I never even gave it a second glance.

the FJ is way over priced, all the dealers around me have atleast a 5,000$ markup on them, which brings the price up to 37,000$ This seems a bit extreme for this car, the interior of the FJ is less than impressive.
I didnt get to look inside the camry nor its price tag, but im liking the exterior

I went to an event at the local Toyota dealership this weekend where they had the new Vitz, the FJ40, and the Camry all on the showroom. I'll have to say the FJ is interesting, looks like a jeep ran into a hummer :)

Compared to what? I've seen and sat in one, it's damn nice.
Camry looks way better than the older models - at least it doesn't just blend in.
That's insane for an FJ - I'd take a Nissan XTerra over that any day of the week if those are what they're really selling for.

they will come down. i remember when the highlander hybrid came out, they instantly took the stickers off and sold a few at over 7k over MSRP.
the camry will look good for about 6 months, then you will have seen them everyday, and then theyll be bland.

Yeah the Camry looks a lot better this time. I like how they re-did the taillights.
