Taillight mod idea. Opinions please!!

Wassup people?? I was thinking of taking my Chrome Altezzas that I got from PoweredbyRICE, and redding out the whole thing MINUS the clear bottom piece. Not too dark though, but enough to where they aren't pink. Anyone do this before?? How do you think that would look?? They are the first generation ones.

PS. Could anyone photoshop that for me?? Thanks in advance.

just use the taillight vinyl stuff from b0x or something. anyone wanna give me a set of altezzas to do it?

Russ did it with his, though he used smoke tint.

Where can I get transparent red vinyl?? Maybe I should do it that way just in case it doesn't look good.

well do the yangsung tails...because the chrome altezzas only light up halfway...like not the whole circle lights up

Bat, I know you can get it, but I am cheap and don't want to pay much for something that may only be an experiment. ;)

that b0x dude, $13 for enough material to cover up 2 whole lights. i am gonna get a sheet, but havent had time to get the money order. or look around your sign shops ask for transparent vinyl? or you can juts paint it with candy apple red (testors) spray paint (longs drugs for $3.99 + tax).

Nah, nah, nah....use the Testors transaparent model pain (check out clones page for the exact name) it'll work perfect. And look damned good....

I have the Testor's paint already, and it was $2.xx NO TAX IN OREGON!! hehe I want to use vinyl first just to see what it looks like. If I like it, I will paint them instead. If not, I will probably get rid of them or try something else.

i had an idea....paint the inside....as in rip the tail light apart, and paint the chrome part of it silver to match ur car, or white, to match mine. and then put it back together and WHABAM! it should look nice..right? or not...

I got a broken stock one cuz my ex g/f was helping me open it up... and.. uh.. yeah.. the lens looks pretty nasty.


btw... i got vinyl w/holes in it that was painted black. looks smoked, but it's really not...

I was thinking about doing that, but doing black to match my cf hood, and someday cf wing. I wasn't gonna do all the chrome though, just the majority. I am going to try my original idea first though. Just gotta e-mail b0x.
