don't all new celicas come with keyless entry?
I just bought a 2000 and it didn't have the remote
How much would it cost to get them?

For the amount you would be paying for the keyless entry, you could get an alarm with keyless entry for the same price.

I got Code Alarm for 250 installed. It has keyless entry as a feature.

If you don't get keyless entry, does your key still have the chip for immobliser function in the car?
Strange they did'nt offer this feature as standard in the US market.

I got keyless entry/alarm/remote start all installed for under $600 (Cdn funds). Toyota Canada wanted over $600 for just keyless entry....yeah right!

Go with an after market alarm! Toyota alarms have a tendency to mess up after awhile. I've had two toyotas, a 4Runner which I still have and the destroyed celica. The alarms on BOTH decided that it was going to go off at no reason. I have to lock the 4Runner from the inside and not arm it now. It's no longer under warranty, and it was under it when it started. The problem still wasn't fixed.
As for the celica, it started at around 20,000. Not as frequently as the 4Runner, but it did it. Toyota still could not fix the problem even under warranty.
Aftermarket alarms offer immobilizers and/or a feature that serves as kind of a tracking device (at least in Great Britain they do). It will be worth the hassle that toyota alarms give you later.

go aftermarket like dragonfrog said.... i got a python (by DEI same as Viper) and it has a LIFETIME warrantee.. so it breaks, send it to the shop, they replace it....easy . u can get a whole alarm with all the goodies, some side skirts, and some reverse indiglo gauges for the price of the toyota alarm...... so yea.. ur decision. and btw: aftermarket people aren't bad either, they are professionals too
