Hi guys, for those of you who played a little bit with the gauges...

I'm going to do a blue led conversion on my 01 GT. I was wondering if I absolutely need to change the face, or there is a way to keep the OEM one ? Of course I want the result to be all blue. (I've got ALL the leds I need)

Also, are the OEM leds are orange or white ?

thanks

the OEM leds are orange, and you have to change you OEM gauge if you want that the blue light comes true. If not you can try to scratch the OEM gauge to keep out the orange paint on it, but it,s a tought solution! You need to have a new gauge to let the light shine in...

he is prettymuch correct. the stock face is orange and it has been attempted for scrathcing off orange pant from the guage face, looked horrible. You have 2 alternatives, 1 get a reverseglow guage overlay like AC S7 gauges and do the led swap so u will have blue needles and lcd. or get dooly gauge face replacement.

Hey thanks a lot for your input guys. I've looked at the AC S7 gauges and I don't like the red and blue match. What do you think of this one ?

I would LOVE to get the Dooly one, but as of now, he's not doing GT in Km/h. If someone knows where to get a Km/h face for GT (maybe in europe ?) let me know ... thanks

Well I would order reverse indiglo, swap for the blue leds, and remove the inverter. Could that work ?

Dooly, do you have another idea ?

Get one of these gauges since you can't get Dooly's.

Yea, it turned up very good !!! I'm just afraid of buying a brand new indiglo gauge, and ending up trashing it because I messed it up. In the same thread, another guy tried to do the same but ****ed his gauge... man I don't know what to do now...

Hey ToMaC_GT, did you make any modifications to your gauges ? Cause you have a GT in Km/H just like me.

He was lucky that gauge face seperated without problem...
There are other people tried and it didn't seperated... I've also tried and didn't seperated...
I have the AC Autotechnic, which is the main manufacture of that design...
I belive his is replica of that.... maybe it's made lower quality....

i just changed my leds to red, i also pulled the needles, took off the orange and did then in red too, i want to change the blinkers and high beam bulbs to red also, can i get those bulbs in red or do i need to change the lite filter on the gauge face?? and by the way if your changing your leds on yourown, buy extra leds, i needed 23 leds bought 25, and im still 5 short, and i have pretty decent soldering skills, so unless your a professional at soldering, id get alot extra, cuz now i have a multi-colors gas gauge (half red half orange) and hafta wait till they send me more to finish it off

23 is all you need.... 4 for the left side 6 for the center and 13 for the LCD..
but you can change like door, headlight indicator, brake, etc...

exactly what i did with the needles too .if you're 5 short, then what does your gagues look like?!? funky red and orange, hehe. j/k, but i don't think you need to change the redline led's so that would have save you some leds if you did them red.

here's what you're aiming for, like mine's :D
