call consumer department........and call cops on them....btw sue them for keeping and breaking your car.....tell them you need your car to go to work and stuff...sue their arses off.....I hate shops do this kinds of stuff....I won't let any shop keep my car for more than 6 days no matter what they are working on.......

I dont think its wise to sue. B/c that will just cost you a buttload. Just get the cops to investigate. tell em the whole situation and if they have anything broken on the car or anything wrong, then get your money back or w/e.

I think you should be able to sue them if need me. Besides it would be money worth spent. They should also give you money for you having to wait 2 months. That is way to long to be working on a car.

hey Ricardo, that really sucks. He also had my car for over a month just to fix a a few things but that work was pretty good and not too expensive.
I would just be straight up with him and tell him to fix it right away or you will take him to small claim court. You can also call the BBB.
Anyway I would give him a week and then go there with a tow truck, I dont think the police would care so just take pics of everything and go to court with all the proof. Two months sounds like plenty of time to me to get that job done.
good luck man

i'm not going to post my opinion on this thread BUT all i'm going to say is that i've known linsey for about 2-3yrs now AND yes he takes longer than normal AND yes he is a hard man to get in contact with BUT his work is excelent and his price is good too.
he has had my car numerous times where it takes longer than normal to get it done but it gets done well. if there is any problem afterwards, he fixes it.
my list of work done by him
he put my second motor in,
he has done my tranny,
he put on my sway bars,
he fixed my O2 sensor problem
he put on my second set of suspension (it was too cold for me to do it)
now i'm going to go to him to get my cat done (he knows some1 in toyota that can get it done under warrenty)....otherwise its 1k out of pocket for that part :faint:

^^^ well for the first month or so maybe alittle more it was not hard to reach him at all but now that i keep calling about my car that i want it back now it seems to be a problem for him to answer, explain that to me? i have his cell, shop, and nextel two way number and he don't answer any of them do u see something wrong? i am not judging the quality of work but to me i never had a shop keep my car for over 2 months to fix any problem. now that i try to call he don't anwer my calls and he even has his cell phone off, what would u do in that situation? if he is so good like u claim y he keep braking things over and over and putting excuses for it? maybe he just don't like me? and he keeps telling me alot of the thigs are hard to work on. if they are so hard why did he bother taking my car in? a simple NO would have been enogh for me and i would have taken the car to someone that could do it right with NO problems.

I own the Black TRD Celica that has the Blitz S/C at TS&A (Lindsay's) shop. When I got that kit from Blitz, it had flaws. Lots of them! I know because I was going to the shop in to watch him work. We addressed so many issues with it, and after a lot of hard work, we have an incredible car.
I have seen your car and I have seen the damage you have done and the work that is going in to fixing those problems. My kit came from Blitz and it was a mess when we got it. Well made but not a perfect bolt on.
I have also been going to Lindsays shop for car troubles for years. Normal work takes a day or two tops. He has surpassed the dealership's quality by far, and works till crazy hours for specialized tuning such as ours. I have been there at 1 a.m. with him workin on this stuff till morning. Anyone I have sent to Lindsay is happy with his work. I will go back to install my Ragnorak Cams, and Power FC. next week. :headbang:

When Ricardo brought his car to me I told him I had work that I had to finish first. We negoicated a resonable price. I expressed that everything does not go as planned so don't be surprised. I took the car apart and realized that the turbo oil lines were kinked and the turbo was starving for oil. I found out that this kit was put on wrong. I then foud out it was Ricardo who installed the kit. Ricardo hurt the turbo in process and I had to send it out for repair.
When I got involed with this situation I was suppose to only replace the cracked turbo manifold and send him on his way. Unfortunately the car had more hidden problems:
the exhaust side valve stem seals were leaking oil
the turbo manifold from C2 was not fitting
the exhaust was filled with oil
the turbo didn't have a brace on the engine
I told Ricardo about the above problems and he told me that I could take my time because he didn't have all the MONEY. I then had to send the head out to the machine shop and waited for it to come back. I also had adjust the exhaust manifold. I told him to get another of better quailty because this one would crack like the first. Three weeks have gone by so far. I now have to work on the third exhaust manifold and adjust it for better flow.
I think that everyone needs to understand I take pride in my work and I don't do half of job so it's going to be finished when it is right.
Thank You

At what point did u tell me don't be surprised?. When we where taking a ride in the black celica u told me this is what i want your car do to, and push as hard as this. remeber that?. I told u yes i want it to run good, u said i will have it done in a week i said ok no problem. The week whent by i called u thats when u told me "u have 3 valves leaking in 3 different cylinders i told u go ahead get it done right fix the problem. right? u told me it should take a bout a week. I called u a week or so telling u i had the new manifold u told me u have already done so much stuff to the car u needed a deposit of $1000, i told u i did not have it, i only got $800 u said it was fine when i whent to see the car all " the supost work" that was done was just remove the manifold THATS IT. I left u told me u got the the turbo back from the shop u where sending the head in " to the best shop out there " am i right? first time they mest up, second time they mest up, 3rd time they mest up again. how many times does it take till u realize that maybe they are not as good as u mite think? that was over 1 month or so. then u finaly got the head back then i call u i am going to be finish i am going to call u in 3 days. Never called, so i called the, car was not done u broke your tool. Waited, and waited then a few days after i called u again u said just come pick it up last week. U said u are going to be finish i said ok, i called u the day u told me to pick it up, u said when i called u at 1pm " RICARDO DIDIN'T I TELL U TO COME PICK IT UP IT WILL BE DONE TODAY.". So i did what i could to get a ride, i told a friend to take me. i got there and u broke a bolt. Now i have to WAIT AGAIN. Now i am still waiting for my car. U said i will get it today or tomorrow remember that?. so whats next what are u going to tell me tomorrow when i am suppost to pick it up?.
ps: U said ""I took the car apart and realized that the turbo oil lines were kinked and the turbo was starving for oil. I found out that this kit was put on wrong. I then foud out it was Ricardo who installed the kit. "" if u trying to be onest how can u say that??????????. the day i took the car to you, so u can let me know when u are ready to take it YOU asked me who istalled this and i told u I DID then 3 weeks after it was when i bring the car to u. DON'T say that u found out after cus u know better that was not true.

Hey Ricardo... I'm sorry you had to go thru such a hard time to get your car up and running. At this point I will suggest you to speak to the shop owner not over the phone but in person, the game of "I call him and he said" obviously didn't take you anywhere.
Also try to get all your receipts together, I hope you asked for one upon giving money to this shop. Set a final date to pick up your car and remember that he has your car, therefore try to keep things as calm as possible. When we get extremely upset we tend to say stupid things. Also make it clear to the shop that you need the car and they took enough time already. My final word of advice bro...
Keep your cool and manage the situation peacefully, you know you need the car and you know you also paid to get the install done properly. I am not saying you have to be a whimp and let the shop walk all over you, you gotta put your foot down but be smart about it.

this thread is obviously in need of a capable transcriber who can see through the misplaced words and yesterday demands. *clears throat* i believe it flows right along like this:
1.Guy installs turbo himself (already starting on a wrong foot)
2. shiat hits the fan and he takes it to shop
3. guy tells shop what he wants done
4. shop says ok and guy leaves, expecting work done yesterday
5. guy contacts shop and shop lets guy know that more is needed to be done on car with turbo not professionally installed and thereby causing more problems to car
6. guy is out of cash BUT authorizes the work done obviously knowing that the work will take some time and hopefully by finished period, cash will be available to pay for job
7. shop starts on job and obviously takes time getting it done among other things
8. guy gets a bit more cash to his name and calls shop asking for progress
9. shop (foolishly) gives tentative date for finish instead of telling guy WE WILL CONTACT YOU WHEN ITS DONE
10. tentative date comes and guy tries to get car back but shop is still not finished
11. frustration mounts and guy resorts to defaming shop on public forum causing shop to register on forum for sole purpose of defending itself
12. guy winds up back at square one with his car still in shop and shop trying to get it fixed in time.
Futuristic Baby:
13. Guy shuts his piehole and works with shop by being patient in hopes that he can get car back in time to run it amock on Long Island and blow it before Summer is done
how'd i do?..cliff notes are a bitch when you're not a first hand witness but i tried with the info i caught on and off the forums.
