My girlfriend is in the market for a car. She doesn't want to spend more than 1000 on it. Anybody know any hidden treasures out there? The Honda/Toyota market is good, but high prices and high thefts make it not even worth it. I was thinking Subaru? Anybody have any ideas? Automatic for less than 1k. Cheap parts preferably as well.

thats a tough one. what about an older mazda protege.

i really dont know of too much she could get for $1000 that would be worth a damn.
