i took a friend of mine on a drive and he asked me if i ever changed or checked the transmission oil for the stardard transmission and i told him no.
im not sure what he's talking about but he said it helps for smoother shifting, and a longer lasting transmission.
he says if i miss gears a lot the oil will go down quicker.
what is he talking about and should i do some kind of 30,000 mile check-up???
thanks

I'm not sure what he means about the oil going down quicker, but I generally try to change manual transmission fluid about every 30k. I use Redline MTL, but there are lots of brands to choose from. Your owner's manual will give you details on the correct weight.

U should definitely change your tranny fluid every 15-20K miles. I use NEO Synthetic, the same stuff used by JUN of Japan.

Also the owners manual will not tell which kind of weight to use at least the GT book doesn't. The weight U should be looking for should satisfy GL-4-GL-5 or jus look for a weight of 75-90.
