View Full Version : Will S-AFC be enough for low psi turbo?

Ok screw it, I am gonna seriously look at the custom route, nothing seems to be seriously happening, still after all this time.

After reading about Greddy's t/c set up on the RSX I am wondering if using an S-AFC(since I already have it) in conjunction with larger injectors will be enough to cover the fuel requirements of a small turbo running at 6psi or so. What do you think? Is there something about the e-manage that would make it better for this application?

I'll be talking to a good friend of mine that runs a shop here about building the kit for my GT. My biggest concern is reliability, I know that with any FI the life of the engine will be drastically reduced, but I just don't want to suffer some of the inherent problems others have seem to run into.

Are there and Turbo GT's running around that did not add a fuel return line?

E-Manage can control ignition timing too(useful for both f/i and n/a apps). It has a whole bunch of other capabilities the SAFC does not have, but most of these are accessible only by GReddy authorized dealers. Check out www.greddy.com for a list of dealers, and check this link for more info on E-Manage: http://www.takakaira.co.jp/performance/trust/electriccontrolparts/e_manage/emanage_frame.html

As far as the Turbo GT's, Ivan aka Red Dragon converted to a return style system, with bigger injectors, a fuel pressure regulator, and an SAFC for fine tuning.

So an emange may ver y well be the way to go eh?

And how is Ivan's car doing??

i would personally go with the E-manage becuase it has control over larger injectors and seems it would be a better thing to use then just tricking the ECU with the AFC

Gay, so looks like I will be selling my S-AFC in the not too distant future. Oh well good thing I got a smokin deal on it.

A problem with e-manage here is I dunno where the heck I would get it tuned, like is it just an licensed greddy dealer? Or actual shops? If it's shops I could be taking like a 13 hr drive to Van, I can't think of anywhere else on this side of the country there might be a shop.

I think only greddy dealers have the software to tune the e-manage with the laptop.

well you can do a few things yerself with the E-manage but you have to get alot of the advanced featurs set from a Greddy dealer..

No it will not. Like everyone said, E-Manage, or AEM's new egine managment system, or HKS F-Con.
