View Full Version : Lets help a fellow nc.org member on some problems
Alright I remember sometime back a year ago or more that someone had problems with turning left in the car sharply there would be a noise (rubbing noise) I somehow remember something about the stock exhaust hangers rubbing or hitting something and needing to be rewelded? Anyone on this one?
Next would be the engine at higher speeds. In my gts when i'm in 6th gear going 70 -80 and let off its a smooth off throttle feel. In the other gts (stock) it slows and inbetween you can feel a thud or a jerk... What could this be?
I think that's all for now
The second issue could that have been caused by a loose engine mount ?

I think I have the 1st problem too... for some reason, when I make a sharp left turn (even at low speeds like climbing a hill), it sounds like its skidding...

I thought the first problem was caused by spacers in the stock springs, for shipping them from Japan... Take a look there. The dealer shoulda removed em but, alot of peeps had this issue.
Chiggy
You might be right on that spacer problem.... i'll have him look into that

Second prblem could also be a worn half shaft joint.

What Up! Im the kid who owns the car, and Law did not **** it up! He's right when he says im pissed at my car. Heres why:
1) When I turn left, or when i make a left u-turn I get this rubbing noise. The dealer i took it to replaced the wheel bearing already but that didnt help.
2) I have at least 10 distinct noises that come from all parts of my car and make it sound like a cheap Hyundai.
3) My clutch is sloppy and has a rough, grindy feel to it. When i checked out Law's car this didn't exist.
4) When I'm in gear (most noticably on the highway) and i let off the gas, my car slows and has a little jolt.
5) I've had a **** load of problems with it. Ive had a new engine, and believe it or not I did not mis-shift. The thing was only 650 miles old....i was babying it and the engine blew in sixth gear on the highway.
6) This one im sure everybody's pissed about. My tires are almost shot and I only have 16000 miles.

My stock tires were ghetto too. Lost tem after 10K miles, but they were nice and sticky. I know mark didn't jack up your car, he is just :gay:
Have you wrecked this thing all man?

the damage was to the front right of the car. Headlight, fender, hood. I had to be lucky enough to hit a truck's trailor hitch...lol. No damage to his POS.

Rubbing noise when turning sharp left is the exhaust tip rubbing and vibrating against the rear bumper. It sounds like like a low frequency rubbing noise. If you look at the exhaust, its hard to move it to the left, but easy to move it to the right. When you take a hrad left turn, the exhaust swings right and vibrates against the bumper, causing that sound.

maybe your car was made the same day they announced pay cuts for factory workers at the plant... and they took it out on you...

Thanks jesse. so a solution would be to just reweld the hanger somewhere....

anybody have any thoughts on the jolt when I release the gas, or the sloppy shifter?
the sloppy shifter is normal :) that's how mine was I have just since forgot how much of a difference that twm even made.... it's the clutch that you want looked at.
for the jolt you want to have looked at the motor mounts and somone mentioned it could be a worn half shaft joint.
