I really haven't noticed any change in gas mileage.

It does allow the car to pull stronger as for gas mileage, who cares? Remove the rear spoiler and save a mile or two in gas. Mostly likely you don't drive fast enough for it to be practical.

It's mainly for reducing noise. Dynos show practically no gain. At best, you may get slightly better mileage due to a bit less restriction in the intake system, but nothing extremely noticeable.
