Wooo Hoo!! Please Read!

I am having such a good time right now. The reason is because I just found the car that hit-and-run my car putting a 2" by 6" scratch on my front bumper. I know it's this car because the paint on her white Jetta is silver and my car is silver, and the scratch on my car shows its from a white car. Also, the height of the scratch is same on both cars. My gf who witnessed it (didn't see license plate because she saw it from a perpendicular angle through a window) saw a white jetta with 4 asian girls. And when I saw the car parked this morning it had chinese stuff inside. Also how the scratch appears on mine and hers is a complement because she was trying to get out of a tight parallel parking spot. So her scratch is on the left rear bumper and mine is on the left front bumper.


So...what I wanted to ask is what should I do? I took pictures of the scratch and car with the license plate and parking permit number this morning before she drove off. I also left a half page note on her front windshield (hope she read it f----r). Should I ask for money, should I go through insurance and maybe the cops. What should I do? Thanks a lot for helping me out and reading this long ass post.

yep...as much as possible..yes take pictures before she tries to take off your paint off her car.

Hit and run is of course against the law. Call the cops, show them your evidence ands let them take care of it. Chances are, if they have insurance, they should cover it.

tellt hem that you SAW it happen. tell them you SAW that car with the license plate....call it in like an accident

heres what i would do... could be really bad or whatnot, but this is what i'd do....if u tell the cops.... the owner of the car would be royally screwed, CA DMV has some crazy stuff in store for those people.

get an amount u want.... something reasonable for the damages. and then a little more, "for emotional pain and anguish." if she's asian, she'd rather give up a little money than have to talk to the cops or whatever...... u get the damages fixed, a little more, and she doesnt get royally screwed over by the authorities. both sides end up okay. (she's down some cash but das it) no flames please. i think this is pretty reasonable.... but das just me.

THIS BI--- ISN'T COOPERATING WITH ME!!!! :rl: I told her that I have an eye-witness and pictures to prove the situation of what happened. But she still says she didn't do it, and that she NEVER parallel parked before in her life! I swear some people. In fact when I was talking to her, she asks me how much the estimate is going to be, and when I say, I'm looking at around $200 for a very good paint job. Then after hearing that she starts going again about how she never parks hear!! Stupid crap! She sounds like she has so much confidence that she didn't do it.

Well so I called the cops and they said they can't come over but will send me a form to fill out for a hit-and-run. Does anyone know what the exact consequences of this is going to be for her. It wasn't even her car, she said she was driving her boyfriends car.

Ok enough with my talking, thanks for everyone's input.

p.s- by the way i had a same situation last june where i caught the person who hit me.......but unlike ur'z i couldn't prove it cuz i had no evidence like the picz u have........the end result, my isurence got jacked up a bit cuz of the hit and run cuz i had to go through my insurence:mad:

So you went to your insurance company to see if they would cover it? And it ended up you paying a higher premium? If so why didn't you just not go to insurance?

Uh tell her "Fine the cops can handle this. Its a crime to hit and run you dumb bitch." Some high school kid hit the back of my truck and started driving off. I chased him to an alley and took down all his info.

I took 300 dollars from him than brush off the paint on my truck. HAHAHHAHAHA

i would get an estimate from a body shop before you tell her any prices...body and paint damage might cost more then you're expecting...
