My car got egged!!!

I went out for a cruise with the girlfriend last night it was a perfect night for a nice drive right?!?! WRONG!!! f*ckin punk ass kids!!! throwing eggs at cars doin 50 mph... :angry: my passengers side door has a big ass egg hicky on it now... right down to the metal... besides that the girlfriend got hit in the face with all the splatter and the inside of my car is nasty... i was pissed... i got out chased them down as far as i could they ran into a house and wouldnt come out... so i called the cops and they never showed up last night... a cop came to my door this morning and said there is nothing they can do but write a report... i dunno bout you guys but between the car and my girlfriend i was ready to shoot someone last night... :bang: im sposed to go and talk with the parents of the kids tomorrow afternoon so well see what happens...

yea its pretty bad ill post a pic tomorrow... but the problem is the cops never showed up last night so now its up to me to get the kids to admit it i mean its my word against his... i did go to there house tonight and talk to his mom... she said noone was home last night except her 16 year old son... he also had a friend over so i mean yea that sounds good for me but i dont know how to prove it to the kids father...

man i went through this exact same situation...after we chased them up into their house we called the cops and the cops just waited on them to do it again. Later that same night the cops caught the kids throwing eggs again(dumbass kids). The kids tried to hide out in their house but the cops took their door down! I ended up going to court against them and getting my car repaired (hood and right fender) and they had to pay for the day I missed work to go to court! I dont know how the cops are in VA, but in my area they are pretty good about getting their job done.

I was in your situation about a month ago. Cruising home with the girlfriend about 45mph when *splat* an egg is thrown at me, leaving a crater in my driver's side headlight. I ran after the mofo but he disappeared into the dark. I wanted to call the police, but I know they won't do $hit because there would be no way to prove that he did it. Even if he had the egg in his hand ... innocent until proven guilty. I was so pissed that night ...

yea i have had my car egged cuz they dont think its a serious issue they dont car but if they are runing from u and a cop sees them in the act thats when they get screwd lol trust me i know from experience throwing egg's and geting hit with egg's its a hard life

On an off-topic note... I just heard yesterday that Huntsville (AL) high school kids payed some homeless guy to walk around their school with no pants on... that could scare some kids... It's sh*tty that it happened in this state, but I wouldn't expect anything more from this state

What's way better than that, go to the hardware store and get that copper sulfate stuff (blue crystals). Go over there late at night and just sprinkle it all over the lawn. They can say goodbye to the lawn after that.

we never get egged in here... haha... but on one occassion there was a SUV trying to race me, since he can't beat me, out of jealousy he hit the driver side of my car (we are right hand drive), so i chase that ******* and stopped right in front of his car (traffic was heavy), I took my D cell MAGlite torch and threw that torch right to his windscreen and i just drove away (i could see that his car is severely damaged)..... he didn't dare to give a chase probably thinking that i got a gun or something.

my car got egged once outside my house. i was going to my car for school and found eggs on the windows and doors . it was almost drying up but lucky i was able to wash it all off with a sponge. i use to wax my car all the time but dont know if wax would help protect the paint from a egg or not.

If an egg is thrown at 60 mph and the car is moving at 50 mph, under the right circumstances (as in a direct impact), speed alone will cause the shell to remove paint down to the metal. If a car isn't moving, direct impact may remove the clear coat and possibly paint but the concern in this situation is what's inside the shell and how long the egg sits on the paint. Typically, eggs are thrown at parked cars overnight. As the clear portion and the yolk sit on the paint, pH differences will have an effect. The clear portion is anywhere between 8-9 pH (about the same as urine and car wash concentrate) while the yolk is about 6 (about the same as acid rain and lactic acid). Both can kill clear coat. Combinations of time (as in overnight) and temperature (like a few hours after sunrise) can create situations where the clear coat and paint surface turn into your kitchen's omelet pan.

Another problem is how some remove egg from paint, but that's an entire other matter.
