I have a 2001 GT-S, the problem I am having is that sometimes when I come to a stop my rpms jumps up and down. Once and awhile my car will stall, but that hasn't happened in awhile. It just doesn't seem like I am getting the perfomance I use to get. Could it be a fuel pressure problem? If anyone has had the same problem I would really like to hear what you did to fix it.

Search for dirty IAC valve. Very common problem.

I all ready tried cleaning the IAC. I even replaced it with a new one. I have also replaced my mass air sensor. I have got advice from everyone I can think of, and no one can come up with a solution. I dont want to spend alot of money for it to be something so simple. My last hope is that it is fuel pressure. Thats the only thing that seems to make sense at this point. Do you agree?

im having the same problem, I cleaned my IAC, MAFS and still get rough idle but not as bad. I still get jerkyness when starting in first gear up to 3K rpms.

Is your AC running? That can cause a jumpy idle.

What kind of intake do you have?

I have an injen race divison intake. It happens when my AC isn't running. I have also checked for a vacuum leak, and changed my spark plugs and air filter. It still keeps happening.

when running good it is between 8 and 900 rpms. My fiance has a 03 gt-s and hers idles about the same. When not running good it jumps up and down from normal idle all the way down to when the car feels like it is going to stall then when I push the gas I get alot of hesitation expecially on cold starts.

the only thing i can think of is going to autozone and geting it checked with a computer....and eleminating some things that might be it.or going to toyota and have them plug a tech2 on the car.

I just hate going to the dealer because they always seems like they are doing me a favor by working on my car and they never seem like very much help. The last time I brought it down there to get it checked they blamed it on my intake. It seems like they were just saying that because it wasn't factory. The car just seems like it is starving for more fuel. Do you think checking the fuel pressure is worth checking into?

well i think your dealar is right.

I have the aem cold air intake on my 2000 GTS and its leaving me a cel, i guess i need to look into that maf mod but anyway..

From time to time my car has random idle up and down from 300-900 and back and forth, also on cold starts i have to slightly rev the first time before i let off the clutch cause it bogs, also the car bogs between shifts on cold starts.

I think it could very well be your intake forcing your maf to get an awkward reading.

just a thought.

Try putting your stock airbox back on and see if the problem persists.

I am going to try to see if the stock airbox will help. U described the same problem I am having with mine. It is good to hear that I am not the only one. Do you notice any difference in performance when you get at higher rpms?
