I was paying $5000/year for four tickets, accident, theft, and a break in on my '00 GT. And I'm a girl.
Once they're on your record, they're on your record.
Next time invest in hiring a lawyer for your tickets. Best $200-400 you can spend.

what do you mean tards? sometimes you cant for certain speeds and too close together traffics schools, those are the only legal methods i know of.

Well first check your insurance on the other cars because it will probably be cheaper. The celica is one of the highest rated cars as far as insurance goes. Just because its faster doesn't mean it is more to insure.

Then I moved to another State, and a year later, I'm paying $2400 for 2 cars, full coverage with 300k limit and $500 deduct.

Evo is considered a 4 door sedan with AWD and a 4 cylinder engine. It depends on your insurance because some classify it as a sports car.

no!i would like a faster car but it would prob. be a higher insurance cost,as far as the cost of the car im not worried because i can find any car for a reasonable cost, for example a 2004 srt4 31k miles $12000,350z 2005 24kmiles $18500 ,cobalt ss s/c new $18500,2006 civic si new $18900....
and insurance ^^^^^^still high

Depends on the insurance company. I think some consider those two a sports car. Of course when you say "Subaru," you're talking about the STI right?
fubarlphie
05-10-2006, 12:04 PM
a common myth is that "sports cars" cost more to insure because of how they are classified. this is not true.
insurance rates are based on the number and cost of claims filed, driver age, driver record, and credit score. talk to an insurance actuary, they'll tell you the same thing. some sports cars, the rx-7 comes to mind, are very expensive to insure. this is because claim amounts are high and often with these vehicles. when retards crash them, the cost to insurance companies is very high due to repair costs and medical bills.
my 2005 wrx is cheaper to insure than my 2001 gt. why? less claims. this is partly due to AWD (less accidents) other safety features (less medical expenses) also, in general more expensive, newer cars are bought by more responsible people. why? because most people who have money and credit to buy new cars are relatively responsible, so that means less claims. as it gets older and cheaper to buy, more irresponsible people buy them, there are more claims, and my insurance goes up. many guys who own 2002-2003 WRXs are seeing this.
however, your problem is that you average one speeding ticket a year. those are killing you. stop asking this forum for insurance quotes and go on a website and get your own. no one can tell you what car will be cheaper for YOU to own. get the quotes and you'll know what your options are. also, stop driving so fast.

a common myth is that "sports cars" cost more to insure because of how they are classified. this is not true.
Sports cars are generally 2 door coupe, 2 seaters, high hp, RWD and cost more than the average car to buy and or repair. Average drivers of sports cars tend to drive a higher speed than average drivers of other cars. Higher speed = more damage in accident.
Of course there are more factors than just the type of car you drive.
Your WRX cost less than Celica to replace because:
1. AWD
2. Sedan
3. Demographics and Accident Stats. Owners of WRX tend to be older/family type. Celica tend to attact the younger crowd which are more prone to accidents and drag the down the rating of the car.

I would seriously consider either learning to ride a motorcycle or start using the bus more. YOu are paying more money per month than i pay for insurance AND car payments on my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT.

NJ and NY have the country's highest insurance rates. Because of "no fault", people are paid regardless of fault. That causes a high rate of fraud and ultimately everyone in the state pays more.

My attorney couldn't get my last ticket dropped. Unfortunately the cop did everything correct with my ticket. The only thing the prosecutor would do was reduce the fine to that of a 15 over the limit ticket.

here is the trick guys ill tell my secret(that i know of because i have friends in high places)
it has worked for me...k so say you get a speeding ticket and you cant take driver school for it. so u opt to take care of the ticket by mail can send in a check. they say send in ooo lets say $361 dollars so u send them a check for a lil more and they get it and the clerk puts it in the system as paid.(now at this point in time the ticket has not been put on your record a DMV yet(that is the next step in their process))...so the balance on your "account" with them is $361 and they enter $368 the difference is 7$ and by law they cannot keep any "gratitude" or similar so they write you a check for the difference and link the accout to your ticket. The way there system is set up is after the ticket is paid and marked "completed" then at the end of the month their program sends it over to DMV to be put on records...well if you dont cash you check the account linked to you ticket will always be pending at the computer will never send it off whenever it does its routine checks! the only way it can be caught is when they do their manual audit which is every now and then in a great while. put it this waay i have 3 tickets and 1 is on my record and it is about to fall off because by the time they catch it and send it over to be put on your record the ticket has been delt with years ago and it is only valid 3 years from when you recieved it...lol try it!

Short of stopping speeding . . . .
Buy a Civic for $3000, swap a b18c1 for $2000, turbocharge (t3/t4) that for another $4000 - make 425 whp with a thicker head gasket and proper tuning - insure it as a cheap junker civic with minimum coverage and no collision or comprehensive.

My friend Dan's really nice Integra GS-R got stolen about a year and a half ago... and both he and I have heard several Integra (mostly ITR) owners who either had their car stolen, or were followed home by strangers, or the like. Jay from MM also got his Civic Si stolen last year. There are a lot of stolen car threads on hondatech, dragva, etc etc...
Maybe it's easier if you have a junky looking car...
