OK so my grandpa put new shoes on the back and new front disk pads yesterday. Now, when I push the footbrake in, I hear a noise up in the firewall area of the drivers side like air squeezing through somewhere. It does this with the car on OR off, braking forward OR backward. It doesn't seem harder to brake than before changing the brakes. I think it actually feels a bit softer, like I have to push my foot down further than before.
I took the car to have the noise checked out by the guys that did all the body work when I was in the accident back in October and they came to the conclusion that my Booster is possibly going bad and that I need to take it into Toyota right away. I just find it strange that the noise started immediately after changing the shoes and brake pads...could be a coincidence I suppose, but is it possible that something was pushed while changing things to cause this noise? I really don't think it'd be fun to be driving along and all of a sudden go to brake and not be able to...
My grandpa asked me to post the following question:
Is there a checkvalve in the vacuum line to the Booster Canister?
If anyone knows the answer or has any ideas for what I could check, I'd really appreciate it :)
Thanks in advance :)
Kristin
