did you cut the wire

for the DRL/Auto-On (pin 17) :

today I opend up the shift boot and pulled out the B6 connector and I'm ready to get rid of this stupid feature. But before I do that I wanna know :

1. how many of you did that ?
2. is that the same wire on a 2002 GTS ?
3. is it easy to re-wire the cut wire back in the future ?

Should be the same wire, just cut it higher up so you can rewire it later.

DON'T CUT THE WIRE! I pushed the pin out with a safety pin. So now if I ever decide to want my DRL's back on, all i have to do is push the pin back in its place. But still, it's up to you if you want to cut it.

can you tell me what is a safety pin and how do I "'push" it out ?
(I wanna avoid breaking/cutting anything on my car if I don't have to so your solution is an ideal one)

A safety pin is what parents use to hold babies diapers. It really doesnt have to be a safety pin. Just look how small the hole is and try to find something small and thin to push the pin out. It is a little difficult to push out. Try to push the pin and pull the wire at the same time. I found that to be the easiest way to get the pin out.

i dont like the feature because at the night time you have to manually turn on you head lights!!!!!

i cut it and i like it a lot better with this feature disabled. just make sure
that when you cut it, leave enough wire on attached to the connector so
that if you ever wanted to have them again, you can strip the ends and
solder them together
