before the flamming begins to do a search..i tried and couldnt find anything concrete for what i need to know. How is the handleing compared to an Elise?I already have a Celica GTS and already very familiar with the motor. I will either be doing a 2zz swap or buy a spyder alreay with a 2zz. But i know nothing about the cars handleing capabilities. If having a good coilover setup, sways/w adjustable endlinks, a few bracebars here and there, and pillowball mounts, and good tries and such...will this come somewhat to par with an Elise?

I would like the elise very much..but the price will kick my ass esp..since im buying a house soon. And the knowing that the elise will be an unbearable DD.
Reposenes from Owners of the MR2 on this borad with experience on both cars would be great. Thanks

never driven an Elise

I can tell you the stock MR2's handling is telepathic - its phenomenal - whereas in the old MR2s you could actually feel the car rotating around its center (which is fun in and of itself - characteristic of all mid-engine cars), with the 3rd gen MR-2 there's no sense of the car at all - you ARE the car - you're not piloting something, you will yourself in the direction you want to go, and it goes.

i would expect the elise to have better high speed and mid speed handling

By a Lotus Engineer not lotus itself.

Actualy, it was an ex gang mamber who went by the nickname of Lotus, but he DID have a friend who once worked in a lotus parts warehouse.
