Funny experience in the Celica...

Today I was driving home from Church and I was driving up this hill and there was quite a bit of traffic. I pass this Eclipse GSX and after I passed him he goes into my lane then the other lane racing next to me, then starts accelerating quick then decelerating showing off his BOV... Bastard... Good thing he didn't know I was an auto :) Maybe he thought I was a threat on the road:wiggle:

Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, who has a turbo car with a blow off valve, ALWAYS has to accelerate and then let go of the gas to blow their valve. This ALWAYS happens, I am in the parking lot with my friends going to the car, and like a Mitsubishi Eclipse turbo sees us and accelerates and then pshhhh. It is like they think they are bad ass just because they have turbo. I mean, its not like people with lift hit lift in parking lots to show off that they have a powerful 2nd cam.

I have to disagree. Showing off what your car can do is half the fun isn't it? :D Sh1t I don't even have lift but I still rev my ass off when people are on the side of the road.

yeah, when I had my eclipse, thats the only way i oculd get camaros to race, by venting my BOV. It really is an awesome sound, Thats one of the main reasons I would go turbo as opposed to super on the celi. Its freakin awesome.

Dude, if you had a turbo you'd do it too........ believe me, it's addictive :)

i admit i'd be hitting that BOV like crazy but i can just see some redneck in the wal-mart parking lot gettin on it hard then "pssshhhhhttttt... THUMP!!" some poor old lady in her wheelchair goes onto the hood! at least do it on a road or something people.

yeah my friend has a Jetta 1.8T w/ a BOV and chip.. he does that to EVERYONE whenever he's driving.. its actually pretty cool, even when you're in the passenger seat cuz it sounds awesome..

By the way you can stick the clutch in and rev up and release the BOV so really no you dont have to accelerate to hear the BOV. And yes its a great way to intimadate or get a race started. and it sound neato :)

I dunno if you experienced this but I've seen a car that could sound like it has a BOV

I mean, the car doesn't have a turbo or anything but his car sounded like he has a BOV. He showed it to me and daymn, it's one of those electronics thingy that makes sounds, he has a switch inside his car and whenever they are cruising, just press the switch and a "pssshhhh" sound will go off and it's loud too, it's hella funny but daymn cool trick making everybody think that ur car is turboed :thumbup:

i dont blip my blow off valve at everyone and their brother but I do use it to get attention if Im looking for it.. I mean most people will agree when it comes to cars, the sound of a blow off valve is one of the most beatiful things you can hear :)

Having fake noises (like BOV'S) is a waste of money because you can't back it up. It's like having a speaker that makes a big block roar in a civic thats stock. Your not any faster. Not that civics are fast..
