hey guys, Just wondering, if you have changed just your bulbs, what did you change to and how do you like the change? I plan on trying some new bulbs (for both head and fog lights). And I just want some feedback about how these bulbs really look/perform.

I installed PIAA "extreeme white" for my low beams about two months ago.
The are really bright/white with just a hint of blue compared to stock. I really like them
I get off of work @12:30am so, I use them almost daily.
So far, no problems with them. :)
They are a bit expensive though. I got mine for about $80 a pair.

I got the PIAA extreme white for my low beams. Its kinda funny cuz the first day I installed them they were kinda yellow now that it has been in a couple of weeks it is really white and a little hint of blueish/green for some reason.

Phillips VisionPlus H7
There's no tint on the bulb, but still much brighter over stock, as advertised.

You better get the Nokya wiring harness also otherwise you'll burn right through the stock harnesses.

So it seems that Piaa extreme white seems to be the fav....anyone try the 'super white platinum' or 'super plasma' bulbs from Piaa?

Nokya Artic White all around. Had them in since I got the car in Sept 01. I have 18,000+ mile and no burn bulbs yet.

I've got Philips Blue Vision headlights. They look slightly whiter than stock, but are much brighter on the road.
BTW, I've got a pair of Philips VisionPlus H7 bulbs for sale if anyone wants. Only used for 1.5 months. Includes one spare bulb. Asking $20 shipped. :)

I've had them in there for months with no problems. I've heard problems with burnt wiring harnesses with 100 watt bulbs. Mine are 55 watt.
Great purple tint to it. I love it. Everyone has blue, I wanted to be different!

Like I said, the BlueVisions are just a slight bit whiter than stock. They still have a yellowish hue to them. The road lights up whiter that what you would expect from looking at the bulbs' color, though. I'm gonna keep these since I'm tired of switching bulbs.
Their wedge bulbs are decent, too. They're right in between the BlueVision and stock fog light colors, and even passed at the inspection station. :)
The VisionPlus bulbs look just like stock colorwise. I couldn't tell much of a visibility difference, but the few people here that have them say they can see better.
If I can find my stock headlight bulbs, I'll take a comparison shot.

Nononono.. sorry if I wasn't clear Blue Bomber:
I meant do you like your BlueVision better than your VisionPlus? I've got the VisionPlus and have considered changing to BlueVision... just didnt know if you had any comparison pics between the two.... sorry for the confusion :)

Yeah, I like them better. They light up the road whiter than the VisionPlus, basically giving the illusion the road is lit up brighter. I don't think the color difference would show up in pictures since it's so slight.
This is definitely the last set of bulbs I'm gonna get. I'm tired of finding the right color bulbs, finding wedge bulbs to match them, then replacing the bulbs when they burn out. The BlueVision H7's and wedge bulbs are the same color, so they work perfectly with clear corners. And they're a good brand, so they should last for quite some time.
Thanks.. I think I might take the same path you did and replace by VisionPlus with some BlueVision's :)

maybe I should take this opportunity and snatch the VisionPlus from you guys, so I can install them on my high beams also.
Yes, Golf/GTI high beams use the 55 watt H7 also, instead of the usual 65 watt bulb. But I can tell you, they are a pain in the ass to change though.
