Is the JL 10W6 any good? This guy is selling a new one with a box for $150
Is that a good price, I used to know all the definitions for JL subs (W6, etc), but forgot.....

I believe the W6 means it has dual 6 ohm voice coils so you could have 3 wired together for a total impedance of 4 ohms. I would say thats a decent price since you get the box with it as well. They are pretty nice subs in my opinion/

That seems like a decent price for those subs, but you'll definitely want to check them out and listen to them before purchasing.
JL subs have a tendancy of sounding "tired" if they've been used for very long.

well the sub has never been used, actually never installed, the guy bought it and right before installing it, his ride was stolen, so he got another car and doesnt wanna hook it up...
PS: holy crap Joker, you got my dream system.....mostly all alpine!!! you got any pics of your install?

i would still suggest listening to it, or getting a written ageement that you can return the stuff to him within a week or so if the sub is junk.

the w6 is the series number. w3s are also good, they actually came out after the w6's and have some different technology. the w6's or w3's are the best depending on what you want. (not counting the w7's, they're a whole different ballgame). but all w6's are 6 ohm, but the w3's you can get in 2, 4, or 6. its a good sub and its worth 150 new. but yeah, using only one of the w6's wouldn't be as good as 2, or a single w3 for ohms.
