I took my car (2001 GTS) in for an oil change last Friday at the Toyota Dealership. While driving to work on the freeway, I heard a loud sound and smoke coming out of my car. I pulled over immediately to the shoulder only to notice that the oil plug had come out and all the oil was coming out.

I had my car towed back to the dealership, they checked it out and said there was no damage to the engine. But over the weekend the car was not running good, it seems to hesitate at times, when it hits lift it feels like it almost slows down then the lift kicks in. There's also a lot of squealing sounds coming from the car.

Bottom line I'm taking the car back in requesting it to be looked at again. What kind of testing should I be asking be done. Is there a testing with a print out that they can show me, that the engine is fine.

Please advise.

not to sure of what kind of tests you should aske to be run I would have to say the bottom line is they messed up and the car needs to be in the shape it was before they forgot to tighten the drain plug... On the other hand when the car is running all of the oil is removed from the oil pan and placed thew a cycle in the engine if the drain plug is removed while running there should be a minimul leakage until the car is turned off so in my opinion the damage you are talking abut is probably not a result of that happening . use it to you advantage though, Toyota messed up they are not going to want to have a customer leave un happy because a oil tech that they pay 10$ an hour forgot to tighten up a drain plug when he did the oil
