It's a 15 second car. Honestly the speed is pretty average. I don't regret it though. I have more money for rent and hanging out with friends. It's still fun to get up on it and rip through the corners. It's much better for auto crossing. You can get into high 14s with bolt ons and DRs though.

Like Larry said, you are the only GT close to 14's with bolt ons. You may just have one of those few cars that has a little more pep than the rest. Let's see those 14 sec time slips Joe. I think it would be cool if you could do it.

I don't think it will be hard. I did the 15.07 without header or DRs. I think I can get 14.8 with these two things. I'm guessing I could trap at like... 92-93.
Also there are ZERO GTs out there doing the same mods or racing preps that I do. There is nothing special about my car or my driving skill really.
you also have a new engine now :).. so things have changed.. if u can still do it just proves u are one hell of a driver :)

The GTS is a magic car. With the 6 speed, you drop exactly 1000 rpm with each shift. THis keeps you in the vvtli perfectly. Thats why it's a six speed. One other nice surprise: at 70 mph on the highway she's as quiet as a Towncar because of the 6th gear, Nice... and fuel savings too. The suspention is better dialed in for ride than a Porsche Boxster S (W/18"). Hey, since 9/11, I bought my GTS for 21,3 and that was loaded, with leather, 0down, 0%. Find a leftover 2001 GTS like I did and steal it. Why be slower than Saabs and Saturns?
2001 6 speed GTS.

I need better track launching skills, i have mastered the street launch, i just suck at the track launch. i wouldnt mind a low 15 second time slip.

What GT-S are you driving?
When i had mine, there was none of this 1000rpm drop...
As to the orriginal question... no the GT is not that fast.

sorry Nmyeti, but my GT-S drops less than 1000 rpms on each shift. Heck it drops about 500 rpms...
if I shift at 2K rpms. ehheheh :) :)
Also speed is relative. the GT is fast/slow compared to what?

I was trying to figure how come i had to take it past redline to make the 1-2 Shift not fall out of the cam....

Maybe if your GT-S only dropped 1,000RPMs like everyone elses:rolleyes: then you wouldn't have gotten rid of it for that stinkin family sedan...;) :D
Oh, and mine is quite as quiet as a towncar at highway speed, in fact, not even close
theres no way it falls 1000 rpms.. more like atleat 2000rpms on 1-2 and from 2-3 and so on it would be around 1500 unless your powershifting.

if it does... maybe the clutch is slipping... or the tires....

In that case it would only fall like 500 rpms, but that one guy was making it seem like it only drops 1000rpms at redline....BS.
