I was reading some reviews on the GTS and am actually quite confused as to what the 0-60mph time is!!! I was reading Motor Trends review for the 2000 GTS and they clocked its 0-60 in 6.6 and 1/4 in 15.2. In 1999 Car and Driver test drove a 2000 GTS and they clocked its 0-60 in 7.5! They went on and said that the last integra GSR they tested did 0-60 in 7.1!!! So which one is right? Can anybody tell me?? I don't feel like getting all cocky against a Teg and then end up losing!!

well everyone mag is different, and every driver is different. i mean if you were a real pro, you could maybe do 0-60 in 6.7 But the fastest time i read from a mag was 6.8 thats from the r&t mag. the new 2002 are different story. since they do have the rev limiter glitch, SCC tested them at 8.1 which i thought was way off. so it depends mainly on the driver.

according to May 2002 Car and Driver, it was 7.3 sec 0-60 and 15.6 sec 1/4 mile

If that's the case, then that kinda sux cuz those are the same performance figures i had with my 99 si, before i modded it! Shouldn't the GTS be faster since it has 20 more horses and weighs about 100 lbs. less than an SI?

yeah, but like i said, its the rev limiter glitch. if i were you id get either the '00 or '01 model celica's. those are the fast ones!!

Actually, my SI was stolen in February, so now I have a 2000 GTS with the 6spd. Just outta curiosity, is there any way to lower the VVTL-i crossover???

Why are you relyin on a Mag source.. real life, usually o.2 to o.3 faster.. besides go to the reviews section and look at the timeslips ppl posted.. you should see GT-S running mid 14 to high 14... noobz

I realize that usually they're faster in real life... or maybe even slower depending on the driver. The reason why I'm relying on mags is simply to compare a Civic Si (my old car) to a Celica GTS! If we take into consideration what you said about being "usually 0.2 to 0.3 faster," then that means a stock si would do 0-60 in 6.9 and a stronger and lighter GTS would do it in 7.1-7.3.

With a custom chip (which may or may not exist at this point), VVTL-i crossover could be lowered theoretically, but the "second cam" profile just won't make good power below 6000 RPM, so it would be a dumb thing to do. This has been discussed in other threads.

I can not see any comparison between Civic SI and Celica GTS, stock to stock celica is faster, both the Si and GSR, if same driver runs 1/4 mile is very likely to do better times with the GTS. However the ITR due to the fact that has better performance parts than the GTS, gives better times on the 1/4 mile of 0.2 - 0.4
But like the Motor Trend magazine placed it on a comparison between the ITR and GTS (celica did 6.6 and ITR 6.2), a celica with some TRD parts is likely to give the ITR a bloody nose or a fat lip.

I'd like to think the GTS is faster, especially since I own one now... As far as the GTS and the GSR, according to car and driver, the GSR was faster by. Here's what Car and Driver said.

" Since it boasts more oomph than an Acura Integra GS-R and weighs in a little lighter, it should have been able to put the smaller gear-ratio gaps to good use. Instead, we saw an unremarkable 0-to-60-mph flog of 7.5 seconds--our last three-door GS-R ran 7.1--and an equally noncompetitive quarter- mile time of 16.0 seconds at 88 mph (versus 15.5 at 92 for that GS-R)."

I know for a fact a stock si will run high 15's... so, an si and a gts are comparable... to an extent...

Here's the link if you think i'm lying...

Hey, what about 0-60 time for a GT? I can never seem to find that anywhere, and would that time be more consistant than the GT-S as the magazines are concerned? Thanks

This rev limiter glitch you're talking about.. is there anyway to get rid of it? I just got a 2002 gt-s, and that kinda pisses me off.. can I buy a different computer? or buy some sort of upgraded chip for my computer? or am I stuck with this rev limiter thing forever?

Sorry bro, but you are stuck with a sucky rev limiter for now. Join the club.

GT-S are faster than GS-R for sure. Like I said, GT-S on our board is running on the average of mid 14's. I believe GS-R puts out a tad better number than a GT and samething with Si. GT-S is faster car than GT, GS-R and Si without a doubt.
