mafiesto is right... and arent they heavier anyway? and they are huge.... its stupid to have a huge wing on a front wheel drive car.... TRD one or WW or Rod millen spoilers are as big as they should get.. anything beyond that is plain STUPID!!!

If they are functional on your car than go for it. Otherwise its way too overdone.

i think most people think there overdone and just the epitomy of rice.. i think on a car that has the rest of the car done like wheels, lowered, kit etc etc with an aluminum wing sometimes compliments the car.. that is only if the car is done stylish thoughq

I don't care for any aluminum race "style" wing made in the U.S. or China. There are several JDM authentic aluminum race wings that are quite attractive tho, and NOT huge like offerings from APR. And actual race wings are engineered with aerodynamics in mind, both in airflow and hollow lightweight construction. Mine is lighter than the WW wing I hefted at my friend's bodyshop, and smaller than either the TRD or Kaminari race wing that is becoming quite popular.

Cusco has a couple wings with several stand options... I went with the lowest, which is still about 5". You'll find several other JDM companies that offer single plane wings in different styles, but mine is double.

Don't get me wrong... I didn't buy it with functional downforce in mind. I wanted something that didn't look like someone slapped a couple pieces of sheetmetal on some stands and called it a spoiler.

aluminium wings are cool on cars that have the hp to back it up.. supras , rx7's silvias, cars like that you really cant talk **** about no matter how " ricey" they may be cause they can usually back it up with big hp #'s and 1/4 times.
I think huge aluminium wings on cars like civics and celicas and integras for that matter just dont fit.. cause for the most part none of these cars can really justify a wing that huge. (not talking about super modified 8 second drag cars)

that's true... ;) unfortunately this was the only JDM wing I could find that wasn't huge... or available as a copy thru MB Auto or the like. Needed something to match the kit and this did a perfect job.

i think they look ridiculous. they're dumb. there are very very few exceptions. the car has to be AMAZING all around before you can add one and it look ok. otherwise i just laugh.

I think there is a difference between a giant-assed aluminium wing and a color matched spoiler. Spoilers compliment bodykits if theyre done right (x-evil's celi comes to mind)
even tho they are a bit bigger than stock
a giant aluminium wing thats twice as big as the civic its on is another story tho...

they're a F&F craze? ok, i had my APR spoiler on my car for months before that damn movie came out. and I think it looks good (thanks for the props larry) I've seen celica's with the same spoiler as mine and for some reason it depends on the car. If you can pull it off and make it look good then God bless ya. In all honesty I think I've pulled that off. My reasoning? b/c when i get compliments from kids AND people in the business community that really cant stand any cars like ours then I feel i accomplished a clean car.

Oh and to those that say they dont do anything? I can tell when i've adjusted the spoiler wrongly b/c the car gets a$$ happy on the highway and wants to lift the back end up. but if its adjusted correctly then its smooth

I have the APR V-spec but not the celica one, because my GT didn't come with a wing, so the legs on the wing are closer, the sides are white and the rest of the wing is bronze, my car is lowered 2" on 18's i just need the WW kit, i have gotten nothing but good comments on the wing, and how well it fits the car, and is not over done.

DarkDuende's custom wing is NICE.. I heard it's a one-off custom mount that was used and made for someone who knew the APC owner personally... I wanna try and figure out how to get the same mounts... that's the only way I'd get an aluminum wing

what i dont understand is why people say the APR aluminum wings are lightweight...when in fact they definitely weigh the car down. i couldnt believe how heavy that shet was compared to the cusco GT wing.

well...as for functional, a stock suspensioned celica can really use downforce in the back...mine has a lil "weight reduction back there" (no interior in the rear or anything) so when i was racing a saleen my tail lifted out and i went sideways at about 80.

this was a long time ago, i posted here about it. The celica has a habit of kicking out the tail.

having it more planted sometimes would be nice. granted thats not why 90% of you guys do it, but There are people who actually do use it. I dont see any point in it being excessively large, but i know for a fact that wings lke the veilside are functional.

the supra TT veilside wing adds somehting like 80 lbs of downforce on the rear at 70 mph...an old friend of mine HAD it on his supra before he blew up his engine (made around 1000 hp....disgustingly rich and fast guy)

I'm in the small minority the people that buy the GT style wing for its functionality rather than pose valve. I love the look of them as well but some of them are over the top. I would never bother with ones made in the US of China for the same reasons as QWKsilvr808 mentioned before.

They do serve a purpose if designed correctly and look good if the rest of the car is modded to suit the style. But each to his own.

I've the APR replacement..... and i luv it.. think about it.. everyone has the TRD spoiler....... The APR spoiler probably won't make a lot of different on normal driving... so does the TRD one... they are all for look.. and the APR one is the same height as the TRD and the rest... then how come ppl said the APR is gay but not the TRD one... ???

I chose to get the apr v-spec and paint it spec blue to match the car. I love that wing and think it stands out just as much as the trd wing or any of the others. All spoilers are for looks even from the factory. Cute little spoilers that do absolutely nothing. I want a bigger agressive spoiler so thats what I got. I did notice a tighter ride above 80 but I admit that was just a bonus that I had only hoped for. The 18in wheels I got dont really help me too much besides the fact that they are wider and grip better, but they look good. Some people prefer smaller wheel for perfomance reasons. Each to his own. If you dont like them you dont buy them. Easy. Your car is an expression of your personal tastes and no two should be alike. unless it's stock...:rolleyes:
