um, ya, you dont want that thing flying into your face. Did you cut your stock strut housing yet and installed the new shock?

You have to compress the spring to remove it from the strut assembly- so yes.

As long as you do it right, there shouldn't be any danger.
Go to Autozone and rent a strut-style compressor for like $45. When you return it, they refund you in full. Kinda like renting equipment for free.

I found that the strut-style compressor works really nicely when installing an exhaust. :chuckles:

When I did my koni's and took off the springs all I did was lay the strut/spring on the ground, lay a towel over it and slowly ratchet it off. It popped off with very little force. Now putting the sh!t back on your going to need to compress it!

The front's have no compression in them when removed, the rear does, so all you need to do is loosen the top bolt, put it back in the car loosely and then pop it off the rest of the way. The suspension will deflect and take the force out. When putting it back on yea your gonna need a compressor.
