Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I could replace my hatch struts with something stronger. I wanted to make it so if I released my trunk it will auto lift.
is this even possible?
Best regards,
Andrew

They have different struts for the hatch that are stronger. I don't know if it will auto lift or not. Let me see if I can find them.

There is a thread about them here:

C2 also has these shocks, but according to that thread the brackets don't fit. So there may be some modification work to get them to fit.

Do you mean that as soon as you open the trunk, it just pops up?
What model year do you have? Mine's a 2004 and it lifts up as soon as I open it, and that's with the heavy-a$$ TRD wing. Maybe later years had stronger struts?

Cars equipped with the TRD wing came with stronger struts.

Thanks for all the responses
I'm a bit discouraged now. I am going to be getting a TRD wing (replica) so this hatch shock replacement will probably be necessary anyways.
What i really wanted was my hatch to auto lift.
Anyone else have any ideas if this is possible?
