Center Glove Box Door - Removal?

Is there an easy way that I can't psych out to remove and then reinstall the door/cover to the center glove box without breaking it and without having to take the entire center console apart? I've looked, I've pushed, I've pulled, but I'm afraid to go any further without asking...

The black rod that goes through the hinge and holds the spring into place has a built-in clip. It's hard to reach, but push down on it and then just push it through with your thumb from the back. Obviously you'll need to have that particular piece of the console removed to be able to do it.

If worse comes to worse, you can use a punch tool and force it out, it shouldn't break (I did it this way the first time...LOL which is how I found out there was a built in clip).
