I love my Celica, I just got finished driving a 30 minute jaunt to my wife's Certification testing center to see where it was, and it was absolutely fantastic....just love the way it handles, and the beautiful sound of the engine at WOT.

I'm just trying to see how it is, cuz after tomorrow, it won't be the same again. I'm running the nitrous tomorrow...mwhah!

To answer your question: Yes, in a heartbeat. There's no other car (that I can afford) that I would rather have bought in 2000.

Sure, new cars are coming out..but I've already got the other top contender, the rest are less than the sum of my car already.

I would have kept my 99 v6 accord coupe instead of getting the celica because that car was paid off and I wouldn't have such a debt

don't get me wrong, I love my celi.. and it'll be hot once it's turbo'd
but I probably would have gotten a 3g GST/GSX due to the lack of aftermarkets for the celica..

Well the way the Celica has changed in the last several years I'm glad I got a 2000. Wide gates of the 2001 and low fuel cut of 2002 makes the 2000 the prime year and fastest year produced. I drove an S2000 and it was not to my liking and the WRX has much to be desired. I may have gone with an MR-S and transplanted a 2zz. I probably would have made a replica of the Roja turbo 2zz MR-S

Well the shift pattern wasnt changed until may of 2001, so up until then they were all identical. I have the revised shift gates on my 2001 with the higher cut-off, and all I can say is you can really tell the difference of the 2-3 upshift only the downshift. The way its angled its pretty much a straight shot on the upshift.

hey russ- i still do have an 88 gts w/ a 3sge...in near-mint stock condition. It sits in a garage all year long. I rarely even drive it, except for when my 00 is at the dealer. Fully restored, rebuilt motor with maybe 20,000 mi. on it. I'm thinkin of maybe sellin it...

and oh yeah, it's the super red like your old one...all new paint and mostly new panels.
