Hey guys
Any suggestions as to what alarm system i should install ?
any info, websites, prices would be helpful

My car got broken into the other day
Its been raining over here quite a bit lately and i cant really get any repair quotes (driver's side window completely missing, rear quarter glass smashed as well, multiple dents where the ****heads tried prying a window frame that doesnt even exist)
Its a real pain in the ass to have no car to use at the moment and my premium is gonna go up as well as a hefty 750 excess!
It sucks big time!

I got some fairly good prices from Auto Bahn...I think they quoted me about $250 for a Hornet Alrm system with two stage imobliser....go into the shop and get the brochure its got the full specs.....

I dont know about perth, but the stratfield car radio that I have dealth with in my local area are **** house....really crappy installiation according to my friend who had some work done on his car there.

Sorry to hear about your ride dude.

I live in fear of coming back to my car and finding it broken into.

Brant make really good alarm systems (pretty pricey though). In fact they make a lot of the alarms which are standard equipment on some 'prestige' cars, including the Subaru STi. They have a mobile fitting service, so can come to whereever you are.

There was a decent article in the latest Hot 4's magazine about security systems. It included explanation of some of the different features available as well are reviewing some systems.

I've been thinking about an alarm. Personally I would go for a battery back up siren and microwave sensors in the cabin as well as the usual boot, bonnet and door protection.

The security system is only as good as the installer and it is important to test/ maintain them regularly.

Hope this helps.

Thanx for your help fellas!
They tried to flog my Pioneer cd player but all they managed to get was just the face plate

cleaned up the glass the other day took over an our getting the interior reasonably clean but theres still really small shards of glass stuck in the seats and carpet plus blood stains on both front and rear seats

once it all gets fixed up im gonna have to get an alarm installed
they do have strathfield shops here in perth but im not too sure as to how good they are at installing alarms

currently looking around perth to see what options i have
i also had a look at some security film tints but apparently i cant really use that on the front windows because they're frameless and dont have sufficient support for the thicker film (probably getting a bit paranoid but i dont really want to go through this hassle again!)

its just a matter of waiting now
