I found this thread concerning poor dealer service on VWVortex a while back, but I recently noticed that the post count had risen to 860, and over 113,000 views! It's interesting reading if your looking to kill a lot of time.
To sum it up:
-customer has problem
-Jim Ellis doesn't fix problem
-customer gives dealer a second chance
-Jim Ellis doesn't fix problem
-customer relates *facts* of incident on VWVortex
-Jim Ellis bans customer
-time passes
-original thread grows to 120 posts and 8000 or so page views over a few months
-Jim Ellis VW SUES customer and VW Vortex (a classic SLAPP suit)
-Original thread grows from 120 posts and 8000 pageviews to 600+ posts and 66,000 pageviews in the ONE Week since the suit was filed
-members of 85 different automotive forums took notice, joined vortex to show support, people paypal'd g-man money for his legal expenses (he said the balance would go to the Red Cross).
-Jim Ellis feels the wrath of all the coverage - local news paper, the internet, *the countersuit* and "decides to settle"
Ironically, poor dealer relations was the last of many reasons why I abandoned my pursuit to purchase a VW GTI GLX.
