If it has a mode button ...usually you press it once then the lock button for a silent lock....but I have an Alpine so I have no clue!

The factory Toyota RS3200 alarm has a small "speaker" under the hood, near the circuit breakers. This makes the chirp sound, during locking and unlocking. Also, the extended chirp when attempting to lock with the door open.

Just find the "speaker" and cut the wire. Insulate the cut ends to prevent shorting.

yep.. what wingless said... it's like a little cylinder looking thing usually located in some foam wire tied to the rubber hose that has the ecu wires in it.

w/the stock rs3200 POS thing that comes w/the car... when you arm/disarm the alarm, the noise comes out of that speaker thing..
when the alarm is going off... it's the horn honking.

IMO, yeah, but then again, the alarm i have now is probably overkill

actually i think he has the same alarm as me, if this is the case the actual horn beeps once when you lock and and twice when you unlock it. When i first bought it, this didnt happen but i think i activated it while cleaning my car one day. There should be a red button next to the passenger window lock that blinks when activated, and i think by pressing or depressing it sets this feature. Im not positive though..

EDIT: I'm wrong

i think there is a way without cutting it. I think you have to push the buttons a certain way because a few times my car wouldn't chirp but then i played with it a couple of times and reactivated it. it's probably in the alarm handout i have. I 'll have to take a look at it. I personally like the beep. one beep reminds me of "lock"=one syllable and 2 beeps "unlock"=2 syllables. and it also makes people look and say "nice car!"

I like the beep sound, when I'm in a hugr parking lot, I just press it to find my car... Or I press panic:gap:

I thought the chirp was far too loud myself, but instead of cutting the wire on the beeper, I covered the 1/8" hole on the end of it with a small piece of electrical tape. It made if far quieter, but you can still hear a muted chirp for audible confirmation.
