I have a 91 3000GT, and as as soon as its sold im taking the money and dumping it into a new car. I am lookin at a WRX, GT-S, A4, or some other quick jap car. I was just wondering what celica owners think of wrx's as far as styling and performance.

Thanks!

*edit* forgot to add a rsx type s

WRX is alot of car for the money. What is more important to you? Speed, handling, styling. I would drive the ones you think you want and decide for yourself.

If you want the best handling, there is one clear choice. You will see many pics of it on this board. Da!

i'm not crazy about the wrx styling in stock form but i think it by far has the most performance for the price out of nearly anything right now (and the most performance related aftermarket out for it too). there's also quite a few nice kits/headlight conversions that do away with the not so wonderful stock styling on it.

opinions of other people are one thing, and your own is another. seriously.. test drive, test drive, test drive. cars on paper look different. experience the turbo, handling, 2nd cam, all that stuff. if you dont mind VW oddities, throw in the GTI 1.8T in there as well..
styling should be your own preference.

It really should be up to you. But as jotan82 put it, the WRX has the reliability of AWD and turbo motors are FAR cheaper to mod than a NA motor is. The WRX is a lot of fun, however, I prefer the Celica because of its styling and outragous chassis/suspension setup (the Celica's chassis and suspension is probably the most poised out of nearly 99% of the market out there). The 6-Speed GT-S is a complete joyride. The cockpit of the Celica is superior to that of the WRX's (in my opinion), the WRX's cockpit is kinda mundane and plain... Celica's just screams style. A4 is in a whole other league... you'll be looking at upper 30's to get it eqiupped properly (although if you want Celica or WRX luxury... why get an A4?).

Since this is a Celica board, expect biased responses... but it'll depend on what you want. What the styling says, the driving style you'll have to take up, how much handling you want, etc. Oh yeah, the name Toyota also means a lot... :)

Depends on what you want out of a car but for me I'd go with a 350Z or Evo VIII.

Yup...I say sell the car and get a 350Z..... those cars are very, very....very nice. I could see myself in one of those in a few years.....

I could also see my self in my powerfully modded celi....

Personally, I think the WRX looks like @$$. I've never been fond of 4 doors especially on a sports car, but that's my opinion. As for performance, the WRX is fast!!! I raced one in my GTS and let's just say that I got a good view of his rear. If I had the cash to spend, I'd get a late 2nd generation (97-99) Eclipse GST. Build up the engine with new pistons, rods, valves, etc. Get a new crank, so you don't end up with crankwalk! Then, I'd spend another 5k on an upgraded turbo, intercooler, injuectors, and other bolt ons. For about 20k, you can have a car that's fast and looks good too!!! But then again, it's all a matter of personal opinion. So, whatever you choose, it's all good!

Also, if you're looking at a Rex, you might want to look into the Evo VII. After all, it is coming :)

test drive em all and don't pay much attention to what any of us tell you, its your car, not ours. you have some nice choices there, so good luck in your search.
