Hey guys i am not sure if this is going to help anyone with the cel problem with intakes but my cel kept coming on and my car would hastate really bad when first started but i got this guy to clean my filter and spray some of that k&n cleaner on it and oil it he left it overnight off the car and the next monring he put the filter back on the cel went off everytime i went to toyota they said that it was a misfire and i think thats because it could not get enuff air into the mix in there and now it is running smooth!! you guys might wanna clean your filter even if it may look clean i would do it anyways i was shocked at how dirity mine was!!

Glad it worked for you, but I never had a CEL with my Injen....clean or dirty filter. Hope it's not something else.

Clone I think you meant you never had a CEL with your AEM

No....I mean I never had it with the Injen. I used to get it about once a month and I'm getting it again with my AEM since I cleaned my MAFS. I dunno why people make such a big deal out of it though. Pull the fuse for a few seconds. Ya spend $240 for the thing and people bitch about a little maintainence......I don't get it.

I didnt know you ever had the Injen clone. Ive never had the CEL light with the AEM. But i see what your saying it takes 5 seconds to reset the ECU.

Yup, had the Injen for about 5 months before I did the ole comparison. CloNe endorses the AEM as the better of the two, but I'm sure just my saying that will cause an argument....haha

pulling the fuse = maintenance?

if someone is coughing their lungs out, putting them in a room where no one will hear will not solve their problem; although it could be called problem solving. depending whose problem you make it be.

#1 Your welcome

#2 You should always spray your filter from the inside that makes all the mess on the filter go toward the outside and off the filter use tap water with a nice high pressure nozzle.

#3 In the cleaing kit you get you will have K&N Filter clearner and oil you put the filter cleaner on it when it is still wet and make sure you put it on there good spray it all over we then let the filter dry overnight sence car was i shop i could not go anywhere anyways!

#4 I got my cleaing kit from pttuning they are a sponsor of new celica i got it when i had my first intake but never used it. I think the complete kit is like 10bux or somthing like that hope this info helps it will also come with complete directions on how to clean it when you get the kit!

I'll take your word. you know what your talking about since you tried out both intakes.
I didn't know you have so much CEL. You say it happened after you cleaned the mafs?
By the way, disconnecting the negative of the battery will not wipe out the CEL code from the system. That's the reason it keeps comming back. You need to get it xeroed out by connecting it to the machince
one time
I did that at the dealership, it never came back.
