hey guys. i know i'm not the only one with this problem. barry and cody also have injen intakes, so does rox, maybe she'll have this problem when she gets her car back. anyways, we all have lowend bogging, some worse than others. mine is a sri, i know you guys have cai, but still, bear with me. me and some guys from clubrsx.com put our heads together and decided to try tightening some of the clamps on the intake, especially since one of the vacuum hoses didn't even come with one. i put one on and tightened it till my figures hurt and my bogging is history! i don't know if it could be the same situation with the cai in the celica, but check and make sure that all of the clamps are super-tight. i'm so happy, i think i'm gonna go driving in a little bit.

it might be worth a try on mine. all i know is it needs something done to it, that's just getting annoying (so many times lately i've nearly stalled the car even when it's floored but it still wont move).

My car stopped bogging, now that the weather doesn't go from cold to hot everyday. It still bogs when the engine is cold though.

I don't have that prob but I don't have a CAI either. I'd still like a heat sheild of some sorts for mine though.

well once again i might be available with one of those jamie. i'll probably end up selling mine, although it has a bit of a rock chip/scratch in it.

haha, you've seen my engine compartment. I've cleaned it once in a year and a half. Give it a few months in my car and the dirt will fill in the scratches. hehe

haha...guess you wouldn't mind the scratches then. especially if you do get a CAI like you were talking about, cuz then you couldn't see it at all. (if you dont get that AEM one, mine will be up for grabs too)

You know, I forgot that Blake said that he'd sell me his AEM. I need to talk to him. When would be convienent for me and you to hook up on the SS? You gonna be on Barrett this weekend? I think I can come up with the money for ya. LMK.

if toyota told the truth today and they'll really have it done tomorrow, i'll be glad to get it to you this weekend. i'll be at barett saturday night if you wanna meet up then. by the way, we found out more bad news on the hoods today...apparently the company that makes them doesn't make raised hoods and didnt' seem to know what rox was talking about. we're gonna try to get the extra $50 back since we had to pay it already but don't know if i'll be able to get a replacement one now. i'm so sick of stupid crap like this happening lately. oh well...

So, let me get this straight....They charged you $50 extra for raised scoops that they don't even make?! WTH?! Damn man, I wouldn't blame you if you traded your Celi in for a Big Wheel right now. :(

exactly...we were both confused too as to why they had it as an option but dont make the damn things. we think that somehow tc spoilers led the guy we bought them from (hotcompactparts.com) into thinking they did have them or something like that. i guess it was some kind of misunderstanding but it still annoys me. it really makes no sense, but all i know is they better send us that money back.

So, are you going to put your painted scoop on the CF hood, or keep the cf scoop on it even though it's not raised?
ShaffeRSX

yeah, but they do make a nice looking hood for my car as cody pointed out earlier. i can't buy anymore stuff until i get exhaust though.

oh yeah, if i haven't said it already, i ordered my jdm type r sway bar (rear) yesterday. and the mugen racing pedals. those things are sooo ugly, i can't wait to get them. too bad they're back ordered.

i think i will put on the raised one i have now and see how it looks. if i do that it will push back the selling date on it though (sorry...). however, if i dont like it i might just put the one that it came with back on there and live with it until i sell the whole thing.

That's cool Michael. Your car is sweet. I thought you were talking about getting a wing soon. Codyk, that's cool about the scoop. I'm not worried about it. Just keep me first on the list for when you do sell it. :)

thanks jamie. i think your car is quite phat as well. you should get the new tenzo r's man, those wheels are so jdm even i can't handle it. that means they're ugly as crap. i'm still debating whether to get a wing or not, and if i do whether it'll be the type r or an aluminum. exhaust first definitely, but even then i don't know which one to get.

Thanks man. I want some Shu 10-s for my car. I'm in love with those wheels. Gunmetal with polished lip. Mmmm....I actually like the stock wing on the RSX's. Either that or the Type R. Not sure about the aluminum one. I havent seen on with it yet. Exhaust will be sweet.

05-08-2002, 07:25 PM
haha..some of those new tenzos are hideous. as are the mugen pedals, but oh well, maybe you can rock some heel toe shifting now. and i'll definately reserve the scoop for you too jamie.
ShaffeRSX
05-08-2002, 07:26 PM
ew, you like the stock wing? jk. that's definitely not my bag though. yeah, i'm not too sure how good the aluminum would look on my car, even though i've seen pics i can't help but think how ugly it's gonna be. but then again as most people know, i have a thing for ugly.

They have a Greddy RSX in there. 13.7 @108.4 in the quarter.
;)
I'll tell ya, if I was in the market for a car (and didn't own a Celi), I would have a very hard time choosing between the two.

hey, that's pretty neat. i really want turbo now, since that greddy one made 243 hp. hmm, dc stuff did pretty well too, i want some headers, and lately i've been hearing gs about them. i need more torque and lowend power.

Your preaching to the choir/quior (sp?) my friend.

All these problems y'all are having with your cars is making me think maybe I should put my money else where I don't like problems it just stresses me out, I'm thinking now instead of a kit it will be TV's, PS2 and a trunk rebuild or Motorcycle not sure on that one though it's not going over very well with the family and with my grandmother in the condition she is that would just be too much stress for everyone I may wait until I get out of school how knows.

meanwhile i still want a bike really bad too. i think im gonna have to get a new car first though. and yea, i saw that article with all the new rsx's too, i did really like that greddy one. however with a turbo that's gonna cost that much (no price yet but i'm guessing at least $4500-$5000), i'd wanna be running more than high 13's, although that's still real quick. and you're determined to get somebody else in an rsx arent you michael? haha. they are sweet cars but like i've been saying i dont want another torque-less car and i'd preferrably have AWD too (cuz even if you have lots of power, traction will still be difficult).

yes, everybody needs a rsx. screw you guys anyways, i'm finishing my car (as much as i can afford) this summer and buying a bike in the winter (they're cheaper then). i'm dead serious. that's my long term goal for this year.
