God DAmn!!!

Ok... good news.. I got my tranny fixed... and pretty quickly.. like 6 days...

Bad news.. they completely fu(ked my Safc Wiring and my car at the same time!!!

I can't belieive this! Ok.. here's the deal.. the dealer called me and told me that everything is finished.. but my check engine light is on... that they checked it with their computer and the code came back that its something with mafs.... so I"m thinking ok cool.. no problem.. probably just an intake thing cause they let it idle too long after resetting the ecu or something.. no big deal....

Though one thing that kinda got me worried is when he started talking about my aftermarket guages.. or something (meaning my safc).. and how they weren't working..... uhh.. huh? But of course he tells me right away that "we dont work with aftermarket components.. so we didn't look into it any further".... but why the hell were u in my ECU to fix my Tranny problem in the first place????

So I pick up my car... I go to start it.. and it starts and dies.... I turn it again.. and it starts.. ok... I get out onto the street... hit about 3k in first... JERK JERK JERK.. 2nd at 3k.. same thing!! the car will not rev above 3K!!! AT this point I'm so pissed but I elect o drive it home.. because the dealer will not do anytihng for me.. because of 'my aftermarket parts.'....

Basically to make this long story short.. they went into my ECU.. and screwed with my splices somehow for my SAFC.. because there is no way that it would just stop working from them resetting the battery... and again.. why were they in my ECU to begin with.. I had a TRANNY PROBLEM.. and some gasket issues.. I am so steamed! I basically wasted the next 2 hours working in the dark.. pulling the darn wires off and resplicing to original factory ones back together.. what a pain.. so now my SAFC is not working.. Asses!!

Here is a list of all the parts that were fixed:

TRANNY:
Gear s/a. 3rd
Ring, synchronize
Sleeve, transmiss.
Gear, 2nd
Ring set, synchro
Gear, reverse
Ring, shaft snap
Fork, Gear shift x2
Ball
Bearing Assy. clu
spring, compressi x5
Shaft, sub-assy
Head, gear shift
Lever, shift, inn
Plate, shift
Lever assy, shift
Cable assy, trans

ENGINE:
Gasket, cylinder
Gasket, spark plug
Gasket, ventilation

....but why is it that they can never do a job without any additional problems.. why!??@?

don't even get me started on dealers i have the worst problems with them ever...no one can top any of my stories...first off this is my 3rd motor...the first one (original) the dealer when the changed my oil forgot to put oil back in and i had no oil light...then they said they replaced the block but not the head or gaskets or anything...so about a week later my motor blew again..i took it back they didn't want to fix it so i had to take it to another dealer who told me they didn't replace **** and put on my timing chain wrong...then they said they replaced my WHOLE MOTOR...well after i got my car back it ran for about 3 months and it started making a noise...so i took it to a mechanic and they said that the motor was not new and it was a bearing so i checked my oil and spark plugs and they were fine...i take it to a dealer and all of a sudden i have water in my motor and the spark plugs were wet...but the day before i went there they were dry and there was no rain anywhere...so they said i bent a rod and my insurance company would pay for it because i have an aftermarket intake on...so now when they opened my motor is was a bearing just like the mechanic said and there was no water but the insureance compnay is still paying for it because they didn't want to cover it under warrenty because they wanted money and by the way they are charging the insureance compnay a ton of money for it...so im like wtf and this is 2 weeks later and still no car on a 3rd motor with only 6k on it this is pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!! now thats a dealer story sorry its sooooo long!!!

Who knows.. you know.. they just did probably over a 1000 dollars worth of work for free for me.. maybe they wanted to screw something up and hope that I don't know how to fix it... so they can make something off of me.. .how shallow!

Hope you get everything worked out Static. That really sucks, I would be pissed as hell about that. Is the car still running like crap now?

NO runs fine now... I just pulled all the safc wires off the ecu and tucked them to the side.. and jerry rigged it back together.... car runs fine... thank god I didn't have the thing tuned.. otherwise I would have caused a real havoc over there for my tuning costs.

Could they have shorted out the safc and messed it up somehow? I wonder if you'd even have a chance of getting them to replace it.

I would recomend you don't have ring three go and call the dealer for you .... the fact is there not going to replace it unless you have solid proof that the part in question woked when you droped off the car it sucks but it's very true you need to start going to the dealer ship alot and get to know the service writer's eventually they will start being cool with you and not pulling B.S. when it happens ...the guy's at Right Toyota have always been perfect when I bring my car in the only complaint I have is against Toyota for making a head light that contiues to build condensation I'm on my third set. xt5y17 there are laws out now that make the dealer liable unless the problem directly relates to the after market bolt on .. you have documentation of 2 engine failures by dealer error the third is a bearing that can also be related to dealer error but there blaming it on your intake ...I've had my C.A.I for almost 12,000 miles no problems I would recomend making a thread to see if someone can tell you were to find the law I'm talking about actually if you give me a few days I'm sure I could find it threw a few people I know

The dealers just don't know how the work on the freakin engine. That's what the problem is. It's been out for over 2 years now.
